How do you choose Artwork for your Interior Design?

Hey everyone!
I’m looking for some help if you wouldn’t mind :)
I’m developing a business aimed at people who are searching for the perfect artwork to complement their interior design. This would be an artwork different to abstract flicks of paint on a canvas. Something that tells a compelling story to inspire you every time you look at it.
My idea is to sell artworks of my own design as well as offer a bespoke artwork service, where we could collaborate and I execute your vision; creating the perfect piece to complement your room design.

I’d really like to speak to some people who are interested in inspirational artworks for their interior design. I want to ask them some questions about how they currently shop for artworks and how they connect with people who share an interest in Art / Interior Design.

Commentaires (52)Eva, Pour moi ça n'est pas si évident que cela. On ne peut rien définir par petit morceau, en décoration, et encore moins si l'on n'est pas sur place, pas même ce type de store. En effet, si l'on place une déco, tout communique ensemble et ce qu'on pose alors devant la fenêtre devient plus important qu'il n'y paraît, à savoir aussi quel style sera vraiment adopté, quelle diffusion de lumière procure le rideau choisi, ici des "panneaux" dans votre proposition, etc, etc. C'est pourquoi je fais de moins en moins de propositions en forum, car il arrive toujours un moment où l'on s'aperçoit que ce qu'on dit est très limité. Assess Your Work Style Before you pick up the phone and start calling prospects, spend a few moments thinking carefully about your preferred method of working. This little bit of soul searching will go a long way to ensuring you hire the right person, and will help to lay a solid foundation for a successful working relationship. For starters, think carefully about your answer to these questions: At what level do you want to be involved in the creative process? Do you want to be consulted on the nitty-gritty, day-to-day details, or are you more interested in big picture issues? Similarly, at what level do you want to be involved in the product research? Are you looking for comprehensive, "soup to nuts" guidance, or do you consider yourself design-savvy and only in need of assistance with color, space planning and resources? Are you a visual person or a tactile person? Will you be satisfied with a designer showing you photos of products, or do you prefer to see and feel everything before deciding whether it is right for you? Do you prefer to be shown many options or fewer? Are you open to the input of others? Are you able to make choices with confidence, or do you tend to vacillate? What are your expectations in terms of a timeline Determine the Scope of Your Project The scope of a project to some extent dictates the qualifications and experience required of the interior designer you are hiring. If you are building a new home or addition, or undertaking a major renovation to existing space, you are likely already working with an architect. This is good. Architects and designers often work in concert, balancing the aesthetics of the home's structure, or "bones," with the interior furnishings and finishes. You may want to get your architect involved in the selection of the interior designer—whether it's recommending someone he or she has already worked with, or using one of the interior designers the firm may have on staff. If you're redecorating a single room or have a limited budget for a space that does not require structural change, you may not need an interior designer at all. You may be happy hiring a specialist, such as a color consultant, who can work with your existing furnishings and help you revamp the space with new paint color and fabric selections.... Everyone knows that proper nutrition is the key to a healthy and active life, but not everyone realizes how our eating habits are sometimes interrelated with the space in which we cook and eat our food. We'd like to share the top 5 practical advices from the personal experience of the Space Feeling interior design team, to combine practicality and beauty, leading to a healthy eating. COLOR AND SHADES We want to turn your attention to shades. If you want to eat less, repaint the dining room in your favorite color but in its cold shade. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cold shades of any colors will oppress the appetite, warm and dark shades, on the contrary, will awaken it. White is the most versatile and comfortable color, for good reason it has become the main color of Scandinavian design. HOME PLANTS Potted plants not only give comfort and more air to our homes. The presence of a large number of home plants in the interior of the kitchen also encourages us to eat and cook green food, and this is mainly greens, vegetables and fruits, olive oil. If you don’t like plants — wallpapers with all sorts of palm and tropical prints will come to help you. The atmosphere they bring will make you not only eat well, but also feel at home like in an oasis! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MORE LIGHT When you plan the kitchen space, try to place the table and working area closer to the window, in addition add lamps, pendants and wall lamps there too, the more, the better. When you are in a messy out-of-control place, it gives you an excuse to pay less attention to your eating habits. Hi there, hope you don't mind me suggesting something. Im quite new to it but I make sculptures which incorporate light into them so you get an abstract cube or sphere during the day and then something else at night once everyone goes to bed.
