chandelier conundrum

i am having an exceedingly difficult time finding a decent long (34+ inches) linear chandelier.. i seem to be drawn to the interrupted style of small Pendants.. is it possible to buy a few pendants and rig them to behave as one fixture so i don't need separate boxes up there, saving some (install $$? Do people sell rectangular canopies where many pendants can be married and forever live in bliss?

    Hi @ninjabetic! It sounds like you're describing what's referred to as a multi-port chandelier canopy for several pendants to be installed using a single electrical junction box. As an example, Tech Lighting has these in their product offering (see at their link - http://www.techlighting.com/Products/Fixtures/Multi-Port-Chandeliers). Is this what you're looking for?

      yes thats it! I will need some help in actually doing the putting together.. how do i know what the thing (box) can handle as far as weight of the individual pendants??

      splinting wires? selecting the right gauge wire? using wires nuts on pigtailed wires..?sounds a bit complicated.. has anyone ever DONE this?

      Visit your local lighting store for help and bring your plans with you so they know the layout.

      Also, ask your local lighting store for recommendations or names of several licensed/insured electricians they know and who are already familiar installing these types of products.

      Sounds like a great solution to make-your-own-fixture. I'm sure a licensed electrician can assemble it safely. Good luck!
