Hidden Bookcase Door/Murphy Door

Hi everyone, we are about to remodel the whole of our ground floor. I am very keen to incorporate a hidden bookcase/murpy door into a downstairs bedroom. Can anyone advise me if anyone in the UK sells these types of doors or will it be a bespoke build that I will need to get a carpenter to do? thanks

    Lamco in Poole ( and on Houzz ) can include Murphy beds and other gadgetry into bedrooms to make them dual or multi purpose rooms.

    As you want a discreet but professional job I would suggest you go down the bespoke route. You want it to look unique to your home...

    Just wondering if you managed to do a murphy door / hidden bookcase and what did it look like?

    Hi, yes I did get my bookcase door. My joiner made a bespoke matching pair of bookcases, one of which is a door. I ordered the hinges from Murphy Doors in USA and they provide a basic set of plans. Finished product is brilliant.
