Mid-Century Modern Living Room

Hello - I am furnishing my living room and need help with end table and lamps. I have gold metal with glass top end tables. Should I purchase lamps that match the metal or should I go with a dark wood to match the coffee table and leather chair?

    I would also consider ceramic based lamps, however you can consider a brass floor lamp. These are not expensive floor lamps from Target. Lamp Shade is separate selection.

    All these table lamps below are also from Target and might be worth considering.

      How about a color? What colors are in your room? A picture would help. Color was used a lot in MCM design.

      Generally speaking, I would mix materials and add color or reflective materials. Here are some examples.

      Your rug isn’t MCM, nor is clock so I would find new spots for them. The coffee table is beautiful. Rug should be bigger to fit under front legs of sofa part of sectional. Bbl

      I would pick new rug first, then let that drive your color palette. Lamp bases could pick up color and art could support the color choices.

      Nothing you hang on the wall over the sofa should ever be that high, and it shouldn't be a clock unless it's a Nelson ball clock if you're going mid century modern. I gave you a larger MCM rug, a more-or-less MCM gallery wall (with a Nelson clock), and a mustard lamp.

      I fully concure - Use a color, and if in doubt use white - but color is best!
