Need help for window treatments over window seat

My sheers that used to cover the windows had an unfortunate accident at the dry cleaners. I like all the extra light we have in the room now, but the window look unfinished. (New windows to replace the white vinyl will be in the budget next year) For now, what would you recommend? Thank you!

    You don't want the seat cushion to fade from sun exposure, so how about installing some UV window film and adding some valances at the top. That should allow light, not damage and will look nice. Might be a good time to reupholster the cushion, add new pillows and get a new look. Country Curtains has some nice valances and often the fabric is available by the yard.

    I would suggest some shades for light control, I'm not sure what room this is, but a top down bottom up honeycomb shade would allow light to come in from the top of the window and give you privacy at the bottom - if needed. A valance would complete the look with some pretty fabric. I agree that if needed, recover the cushion and add additional pillows to complete the new look!
