sink and faucet placement

I was wondering how much countertop space did you allow for to behind and in front of your vessel sinks? I had a vanity made and now find it may be too narrow for under mounted sinks.

    Hi Karen,

    There are several things to consider when buying a sink.

    The depth and width of your countertop, size of sink, and the kind of faucet you are using.

    There are many different sizes of undermount and top mounted sinks . I am sure you can find one that will fit. Think of where the faucet will be installed. If you are having trouble fitting your faucet directly behind the sink, try putting it off to one side or another. Place your faucet so that the spout is directly over the drain or center of your basin. Remember if you buy a vessel sink, to consider the height of the sink when installed, will it still be accessible to children, or people of different heights?
