I like the brick back splash they designed here.
Proper lighting throughout the kitchen is a must. Having general and task lighting controls is important for me.

The bright backsplash along the entire counter looks nice.
Like the idea of having pantry storage with the coat storage too.
I like the layers of light: general, task, etc. not for our kitchen in particular, but good reference for other rooms.
I like the white cabinets and the blue tile throughout.
