Here we go! Simple arch, side & top cabinets. Brick surround helps give “country kitchen” look. But what if tile instead; would it ruin look?

Cabinets “supported” by corbels give decorative frame. But would look weird if attached to side cabinets. So, is arch cover for fan, over fireback, possible without big hood frame (eg, if this didn’t have corbels, but attached side cabinets instead?)

Even with crown molding, mullioned window & brick wall, shaker-stole, plain cabinets make fireback look out of place
