I reached out to the Designers after my post and they graciously responded. The shelves are actually built around a 10" steel L-bracket... with 2 layers of 3/4" walnut plywood separated by 1/4" plywood spacer. The edge is a veneer edgebanding so I guess you could choose what kind of wood veneer you want for the visible edges.
Burns and Beyerl Architects the tile is from The Tile Gallery, Chicago and the manufacturer is Meridith, color is parchment. Grout is graphite color.
