As a child of the 1980s, I'd probably find this room silly 25 years ago. Today, it's an example of something totally awesome and unapologetic.
For a few years now, layering prints has been all the rage with decor. Coincidence that just a few generations back, our grandparents totally mastered this art? I think not.
Many times "little old lady" is associated with country, doilies and chickens. Well, that's hogwash. Gammies and Pop-Pops weren't limited to ONE style; they were modernists, traditionalists and eclectics just like us. As this image shows, we can take that traditional little old lady look, then turn it into something fun and unexpected.
Grandma? No. Grandma-Gorgeous? Yes.

Modernists can also work in hints of retro grandparent style into their homes, from a simple club or rocking chair to, in this case, a crocheted throw blanket.
