Curved Understairs Wine Cellar
Homeowners in Austin, Texas wanted to make use of dead space under their curved staircase. We were able to complete this beautiful wine cellar and maximize on storage space for their 200-bottle wine collection. The design follows the line of the staircase with label-forward wine racks that are 3-deep. The adjacent kitchen features brilliant blue finishes. To tie the look of the cellar into the kitchen, we utilized custom made substrates finished to match the detail in the kitchen. The silver wine racks stand out against the blue finish and pop even more with a backlight from the substrates.
The enclosure is protected with insulation and vapor barrier on the solid walls and ceiling. Insulated glass doors seal the cellar and provide a beautiful vantage point from the outside.
