For this up north vacation home the client requested a calming retreat where they could relax after long days at the beach with their three children. We replaced the existing fire place navy blue ceramic tile with small rough cut glass tile in shades of browns, coppers, and tan. The bed room has an extended sitting area with a done ceiling that over looks Little Traverse Bay. They wanted this to be a cozy area for them both to put their feet up read a book and enjoy their water views. The tan on the walls and in the drapes represent the sand while the soft blues reflect the sky. This all set a perfect back round to highlight the almost black bed and night stands. We repeated the same soft blue in the ceiling area of the dome.
