Washington, D.C. -- Capitol Hill
As is the case in many older Washington-area homes, previous renovations sometimes resulted in awkward wall cut-outs or unusable niches. In this and the following photographs, these difficult spaces were filled with storage pieces, a flat-screen television, and artwork to make them practical and to conserve the typically narrow width of traditional row houses for improved flow.
