We upgraded existing systems in a newer contemporary townhome that would allow “aging in place” in a four story structure possible. New custom kitchen, completely redesigned staircase by Blackshop, and pneumatic elevator install, all which required meticulous coordination. Home environment softened and warmed with more organic elements.

Kelly was great to work with. Our Forrest Park addition of two bathrooms/expansion of two bedrooms went extremely smoothly. His help on putting in a specially ordered Japanese tub and willingness to work with the architect and be creative in our approach was invaluable. Kelly has remained in touch to help us even after project was finished. We cannot recommend him highly enough.

Kelly made our first experience of building a home fun and stressfree. He was able to accommodate our eclectic taste while keeping us within budget. Not only did he build us a beautiful home, it is a quality home that will last us generations to come. Bluestone completed three remodels/additions for me between 2010 and 2015. All three projects were completed on time and on budget. Bluestone used quality materials, quality subcontractors and provided a quality finished project. As a former commercial general contractor for 20 years, it was a pleasure dealing with Kelly. I've had the pleasure of working with Kelly & his clients for several years. Kelly is very detailed and listens to his clients needs and wants to make their project run smoothly and turn out beautiful.

Kelly was the general contractor for a kitchen renovation in our home in Homewood, AL. We worked with an architect to develop renovation plans with the intent of a staged renovation based on our current budget -- $168,000 -- and obtained 3 bids -- all of which were substantially over our budget ($200-$300k). Kelly was the only contractor among the 3 bids who was willing to work with us to modify our renovation plans so they were feasible. Kelly estimated that it would take 4 months to complete the renovation, and the renovation was completed on time and within budget. We were disappointed with the quality of work provided by some of the subs, but in reality it is a booming construction market, and all of the contractors are competing for affordable, reliable and high quality subs, so I don't think this was a reflection on Kelly. In the end, Kelly pushed his subs to provide high quality work, and the end result was fantastic (see pics). Kelly's biggest strengths are his excellent communication, willingness to work to meet the desires of his clients, honesty, follow-through and fiscal responsibility.

Bluestone Building did an excellent job for us with a gut and rebuild project. This involved major work in a house just outside of English Village. They were very detailed in providing a comprehensive quote that was very competitive. We were very pleased with all their work. They did an excellent job and stayed on schedule finishing on time according to the plan. Kelly Watson is a professional and we would definitely use him again.

I have relied on Bluestone for every construction job both me and my Company has done for more than ten years. Under no circumstance would I do another without them. Kelly Watson is very knowledgeable. He has a degree from Auburn University in Building Construction. That and years of experience make him the only choice. Kelly is totally honest and always does what is in my best interest first.

We got really lucky to find Kelly once a tree fell on our house. This was an insurance job and he did a great job putting our house back together and even came up with some great ways for us to better utilize the space we had. Would definitely use him in the future if building is something that I do in the future.

Kelly was very communicative and a pleasure to work with on our outdoor and laundry addition. No surprise costs and always responsive when we had any questions. His employees were very polite and hard working guys.

We first reached out to Kelly Watson of Bluestone Building because he came personally recommended from a trusted friend in commercial construction. We hired him for our new home construction in Homewood and were thoroughly pleased with the process and results. We were already homeowners, but had never done a build or renovation, so were new to the whole process. Kelly held our hands through the entire process and helped us understand all the options available and what the tradeoffs would be within our budget. He always left the decisions to us, but was very forthright about his recommendations and the types of budget saving, yet quality compromising, decisions he preferred to not let a client make. Throughout the entire build, Kelly or the superintendent were on site every day, which made for quick decision-making when needed, and caught and corrected any errors by the subs very quickly before they got big and difficult to fix. We've been thoroughly pleased with the quality of the build since moving in. This house is solidly built and Kelly didn't cut corners anywhere. In a year since moving in we have had no significant problems. The few extremely minor items that we come across, Kelly has been quick to respond and get the item corrected. He even showed up one time on a Saturday morning less than 20 minutes after I called him to help me trace the circuits in the basement to uncover what had caused a ground fault circuit to trip.
