Gary and his team are friendly, professional and communicate exceptionally well. The Custom Build name says it all. The process was no trouble at all and we were able to customise our open floor plan and design just the way we wanted with Gary guiding us along the way. Thanks to Gary’s expertise we now enjoy a house we love, that captures the individuality and unique views of the block. Gary, Ian, Chris and the team at CBH have a unique take on the home building industry. They are genuinely passionate about building a high quality, functional, bespoke home. Having built a house previously through a ‘project’ builder, I can honestly say this time the build was pain free. Changes made during the build were met with enthusiasm, and feedback was sought throughout to ensure our home was exactly what we wanted. My wife and I set ourselves a serious challenge of building a very modern house on a small constrained lot in an established area. The land was surrounded by high walls on three sides and demanded an unusual solution. Knowing Gary from our days studying architecture together, I renewed our contact at the beginning of the design process. I needed to work with someone both skilled in design and who I could trust to develop up a competitive price. The end result is extraordinary. We live up in the air with all rooms facing north, soaring ceilings, 6 undercover parking bays, a separate apartment downstairs, and a lap pool running under the house. There are unique details everywhere, developed up by Chris – Custombuilt’s long term CAD expert and master craftsman – to millimetre perfect precision. We can control ventilation in every space to perfection with louvre windows – and through good design, air conditioner use is extremely rare. Perhaps the most valuable thing we experienced during the build was the personal communications with Gary during design, and almost daily with Ian during construction. There was not a cross word during the whole process, and we enjoyed every step of our “Grand Designs” experience. This team of three has been together for decades – not as businessmen, but because of the enjoyment they receive from what they do. We recommend them to anyone who wants a personalised and truly professional service.

Gary, Ian and the Custombuilt Homes team designed and built our family home in the Perth Hills. The idea of building our own home was initially overwhelming for us, not having built before, but from the moment we met Gary to the day the keys were handed over, we were treated professionally and with respect. Custombuilt Homes were also very efficient in the build, completing things promptly, even having people work on public holidays to get things done. We are very happy with the home Gary and the team designed and built for us and we would recommend them to anyone with a difficult site, or building in the hills.
