Design influences everything in our lives. Design itself is influenced by the client, program, site, context and budget. It is our role to create more than the sum of these parts. When we have the opportunity to design, we can create something that will have a positive influence on our lives, and perhaps the lives of others to come.
William D. Earls AIA NCARB holds Bachelor and Master Degrees in Architecture and is an award winning registered architect specializing in custom residential, commercial and municipal architecture. His work has appeared in numerous magazines and on the cover of Westport and AtHome Magazines. His work was recently awarded a Preservation Award from the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation.
His work also received an Alice Washburn Special Commendation Award for Sensitivity and Restraint in Preservation from the Connecticut chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
William D. Earls is the author of "The Harvard Five in New Canaan: Mid-Century Modern Houses by Marcel Breuer, Landis Gores, John Johansen, Philip Johnson Eliot Noyes" published by W. W. Norton and Co. 2006. Mr. Earls has lectured at Modernism Week in Palm Springs and at Rudolph Hall at the Yale School of Architecture.
His work has been built in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, Vermont and Florida.
