Loved the synergy of working with Ernest! It was an honor to be part of his project. Great use of materials, practical design of space and excellent sensibility about lighting plans.

Ernie’s attention to detail as well as his creativity and awareness of construction costs made this project an extremely pleasant experience. Our goal was to have a family friendly home that could be enjoyed for future years. The renovation was extensive. He dealt with permit issues both state and local. However, all of our expectations were met. Now, we have a beautiful home on the bay.

My wife and I have used Ernest Schieferstein for three major projects during the past three decades.. While he is very trustworthy and extremely creative, he also listens to client ideas and has always been accessible after the completion of the project. We have also found him to be responsive and to function in a timely manner. After many years we are still very happy with the creative designs of this very talented professional. Of course, the biggest recommendation of all is the fact that we used his talents and expertise on three occasions over many years.

"Ten years ago , we bought a modest beach house in East Hampton and completely renovated the interior. Last year I met with several contractors to discuss designing and building a proper front entrance for our home. We wanted curb presence. All recommendations fell short as they were not in keeping with the style of my house. My interior designer recommended Ernie. What we ended up with exceeded my expectations! Ernie didn't just give me a front entrance -he transformed the look of the house. His idea was so creative- not only was it in keeping with the contemporary style of my home, it looks like it was designed for the structure, We feel like we have a new home inside and out. The exterior is a beautiful as the interior. Cars drive by and stop to look at the front of our house. We could never have accomplished this result without an architect who took on this small project with the same thoughtfulness and creativity he takes on a new build. With Ernie you don't get "off the shelf"- you get a custom design- one that is unique to your project.

Mr. Schieferstein was our architect and general contractor when we built our house about 9-10 years ago. We were most pleased with him and with the house he designed and constructed.
