We're not just an online store, and we think that's important. We spend all day, every day in our beautiful Hobart store helping people with their projects. We offer very personalised service and take great pride in that. We're not interested in just selling things and meeting budgets. We want to make sure you walk out the door with what you want and need, and we're prepared to spend time with you asking questions to find out what that is. If you're not able to visit our Hobart store, we still want to offer you the same great service and advice when you buy from us online, so please feel free to call or email us. We've been trading in Hobart, Tasmania for more than 30 years and we love helping people make their homes more beautiful. a day ago We bought a new front door and surround, firstly the door chipped and the veneer that its made form started to delaminate so they changed the door (this was after I painted) so we received another which i painted black just like the one in the brochure. So when we came to fix the door the side panel was 25mm short which cost me extra to fix. But now the weather is warming up the door is starting to warp so badly my kids struggle to close it let alone lock it. The service for what is meant to be one of Hobart premier shops is poor to say the least. I would not recommend any one to use fragments unless you want their metal fixings which are nice but avoid anything made of timber. We will now have to buy another new door to replace the poor quality door fragments sells.

Hi Mat,

I'm sorry you've been unhappy with our service. I recall that there was a problem with the first door you bought and that we replaced it without hesitation. I also recall that we gave you a discount on the hardware you bought from us as a goodwill gesture to compensate for the fact that you'd under-coated the original door. In regard to the size of the sidelight, it was unfortunate that your builder installed the door jamb without first measuring the sidelight that you'd purchased from us as it was supplied as ordered at the standard 405mm width. Unfortunately, if your door is exposed to the sun the choice to paint it black goes against the advice of the door manufacturer. The documentation accompanying the doors we sell expressly states that external doors with any exposure to the sun must be painted in a light-reflecting colour and dark colours must be avoided to prevent heat damage.

I'm really sorry that things haven't turned out well and that you're unhappy with your door and with us. I hope you have better luck with the new door you buy.

Chris made us a bespoke kitchen island bench. We are wrapt in how beautiful it looks. Fantastic workmanship as well as helpful service every time we went to the store which was often! Love everything in the shop and would buy it all if we could.

Terrible service, disinterested staff, everything is a hassle, they don't carry any stock and they overcharge for shipping - do not shop here. Bunnings has the same items made in China at a fraction of the cost and service with a smile.

I’m very sorry that you were disappointed with our service and that we appeared disinterested.

In most situations, customers are not required to pay for shipping of goods from our suppliers, unless they need it urgently and are happy to pay for an airbag. In this situation, we simply pass on the cost that is charged by our supplier. We have thousands of items on display, a large proportion of which we do keep in stock. As much as I would love to be able to keep everything in stock, unfortunately as a sole trader operating a small business, it’s just not possible or viable.

Once again, I apologise for the fact that you had an unhappy experience with us. I trust that if you ever decide to come back Fragments, your experience will be a more positive one that you’ll be happy to share with others.

Great service. I have bought many small bits from fragments to add finishing touches to room decor, I can nearly always find just what I need and the prices area well in line with the market.
