We had a very particular challenge. How to renovate and expand a house considered to be part of the first Mid-Century Modern development in the U.S. We also had a firm budget, and as a builder by trade, some ideas of our own. Hickox/Williams had the imagination, sensitivity and creativity we needed to retain and respect the spirit of the home and its place in the history of the Modern movement, as well as discipline to keep the project on time and on budget. Once the contractor started, together we renovated and doubled the size of the house in nine months. Today, you would think it all of a piece, the new is so well integrated into the original.

Brigid Williams solved a multitude of problems for us. We were re-doing an old house that needed totally new systems and design solutions to modernize the house and make it fit our life style. Brigid listened patiently and came up with startling, innovative and esthetically pleasing solutions to our problems. A commenté : Siding?Great to hear from you! The exterior cladding is clear cedar with a slightly pigmented stain. It looked beautiful when it was first completed and still looks amazing today!
