Legacy Drafting and Design

We worked on our house plans with Jace primarily, and met once with Greg. They were both wonderful. Jace listened to every single concern, thought, opinion and idea we had, even when it was different from what he envisioned. When we chose to make necessary changes, Jace was patient, always respectful, attentive and professional. He was eager to make us happy, and we love our finished plans. Our experience with Jace, Greg and Legacy was most pleasant! We highly recommend this company.

We found Legacy through their impressive Houzz and Google reviews after we’d had a disappointing experience with another architectural designer, who made us consider giving up on our dream home. We showed Gary our previous set of plans, that had already been approved by the city, and within moments Gary found an issue that would have made half of our garage unusable. He took time and we discussed a ton of moderate changes and his fantastic advice, before he even quoted what they would do the work for. We finally were getting the feedback and real-world expertise we needed! Gary spent more time with us in that first meeting than our first designer did the whole time we worked with him. Then, Gary handed us off to a team member of his named Brent who was just as impressive. Brent is easy to get a hold of, quick to get back to us with updates, VERY detail oriented, and obviously passionate about what he does. When we asked for a change or update, he either did it quickly, or followed up with us when he needed more information. We’re not builders or designers, just people who had a pretty good idea what they wanted, but Brent never ignored our ignorant questions. He never was sarcastic or frustrated when we had questions others may have felt were nit-picky. He never tried to rush us or tell us we were using too much time. You can just tell how much he cared. The fantastic suggestions he made and how patient he was with us make us feel he would act the exact same designing this house for his best friend. He was always going above and beyond. He added extra details, just to make us comfortable. One example: we’d already decided on our kitchen design and didn’t know if it would fit in the space we had. The first designer we worked with added cabinets very grudgingly and generically; never with much detail, just saying we could work it out with the carpenter later, assuring us it would look fine in the end. Brent took the opposite approach. He outlined the cabinet sizes to make sure everything lined up the way we wanted. He didn’t have to do that, and we found we needed to move two doorways/openings. If we wouldn’t have used Legacy, our kitchen wouldn’t have fit! Brent jumped into a discussion we were having with our city about the building envelope without being asked, making sure he could notate the plans the way they wanted to make sure they were approved. He added so many little custom details that our builder agreed he didn’t have to, but we’re so glad he did because so many of those little details won’t be forgotten in the chaos of construction. The plans are so much clearer, cleaner, and better now. We feel SO much more confident it will be built the way we want. If we’d built the house with the plans we had before Legacy, we’d be kicking ourselves for decades. The experience was night and day! We are unreservedly ecstatic about our new finished floor plans. The fact that you’ll pay the same or less for Legacy’s expertise as other much less helpful firms is flat-out amazing. They were such a great find and made the difference between us deciding, officially to build our dream custom home. We’ll be singing their praises for years!

Legacy was exactly what we were looking for. Experts who charged a fair price. We went to Legacy with a floor plan, and they took our floor plan and made it a legit design. We pitched some ideas about sound proofing certain areas and Greg suggested a design to help accomplish the request that our builder liked as well. We expected it would take a month or more, but the design was completed in about 2 weeks. When we asked about changes during the design process, most of them were made on the spot. It made the meetings a little longer than what we thought they'd be, but the benefit was that the change was completed right when we asked for it. They asked a lot of questions, suggested things we hadn't thought of and several times warned us saying "well if you do that, you have to consider....". Thank goodness they wanted us to be happy with our house by looking out for us. When the design was complete, they suggested an engineer they had a good relationship with. I checked with several other engineers and the price/time to delivery were as much as double the suggested engineer. The engineers had the plans completed and stamped within about a week or so - much quicker than other quotes. Thank you, Legacy, for helping out our budget with a great engineering referral! Greg and Brent were fast, professional, personable and didn't charge me for one change I forgot to ask them for (which they could have as I admitted it was something I missed)k. If I ever build again, I'll won't look for anyone else.

As new home builders, we were very new to this entire process. We had no clue all of the pieces to designing a home, just what we wanted in it. Greg was an absolute pleasure to work with from the beginning! He took the time to meet with us and design on the fly while we made changes. It was a huge help to have his expertise and tips to help guide us and raise things we didn't even think about. Greg has been such a pleasure to work with, offering suggestions for our front porch design, looking at fresh new designs, willing to make alterations upon my request, yet able to tell me when I've asked for something that won't look right in the end. Legacy was fantastic. I feel like I have a pretty good sense of design, and so I came to them with a lot of ideas. I was skeptical at first that they would understand what I was going for, but I was blown away. Not only did they immediately grasp my vision, they added to my vision things that I never even imagined while somehow making everything less expensive, more functional, and more beautiful all at the same time. They are always responsive. And they always seem to just understand what needs to be done.

I have to say that Greg quickly understood what our needs were and was most helpful in our home design. Greg was very very patient with us, we had an idea of what we wanted. However, Greg had an extensive knowledge of what to look for and also had a professional way of help us understand what our choices were and advise us in making better choices. Greg was always very respectful, courteous and professional. I would recommend Greg to anyone looking to build a home.
