Decorative Ceiling Tiles, Inc.

I ordered Perceptions Styrofoam Ceiling tiles and they arrived with a few messed up. But nonetheless there were enough to cover the ceiling and once painted they look great. But now I am trying to get the city to sign off my remodel permit and they say they need a "smoke flame spread index" for them. On the website it says that these tiles are not fire rated. Eek, am I going to have to tear them down? I don't see why the company did not foresee this problem.

These Tiles Are Garbage - Will Not Allow Return Bought tiles and cornice from these guys on their website. Got a standard 2X2 tile, and chose a color from what they offered. Product arrived and was absolute garbage. We thought w were ordering an American product from an American company. Nope - they were drop shipped from India. Tiles were very thin and flimsy (my credit card is thicker than these). Cornice was even thinner, and in no way resembled cornice or molding. We ordered "cream pearl" and actual product was a yellowish white. Our builder refused to even put them up as he likes to do quality work. This will not allow us to return for a refund. They told us the tiles "were custom ordered". i told them I picked a standard 2X2 tile, and chose a color from what was offered, so wasn't a custom order. They stated that, since it was drop shipped from India, and not an "in stock" item, that made it a custom order. When asked where on the product page did it state that, after clicking on 3 more links, I would find a list of non-returnable items, of which their 2X2 tiles were listed.

Update 2/29/16 - Decorative Ceiling Tiles and ATI both came to the table and made it right. They stood behind their product and like I said earlier, the laminate looks great. They are now first on the list for my laminate and ceiling tile needs. Thanks. I bought $700 worth of ATI NuMetal hammered copper laminate from Decorative Ceiling Tiles on behalf of a customer I was installing it for. This was the exact same laminate the customer already had installed and had been using for over 10 years. It was faded and worn and the customer wanted a new surface. Shipping was fast and the laminate looked great when it was installed. After about a month, I received a call from the customer that the laminate was pitting and staining. I went to see it for myself, the copper was splitting apart inside of the "craters" and there were several stains in different areas of the laminate. I contacted Decorative Ceiling Tiles and sent them a sample of the pitted and stained area as they requested, cutting a small piece out of the customers bartop. DCL acknowledged receiving the sample and that is the last I've heard from them. I've sent several emails to them and even copied ATI, I have not received a response back from them. They are ignoring me. Deal with them at your own risk.

We are preparing our 1930's house to sell. We saw these ceiling tiles in another older home and asked about their cost. We were surprised at their affordability as they completely transformed the look of that home. We contacted the website they gave us and the salesman did a great job walking us through measuring, and ordering the tiles. They were delivered quickly and the installation video worked perfectly. Product was delivered in secure packaging safe and sound and the product was exactly like the pictures on their web-site. Detail of my experience: I am in the process of numerous renovations to my home. Amongst these renovation projects, one of them is the construction of a high end wet bar in my residence. The bar is being constructed of fine materials such as mahogany wood, premium granite, copper sinks, etc. I had in my mind to install a tin ceiling with ornate detail similar to that which would be found in the Victorian era of homes. Like many starting out with a home improvement project, I began by looking to see what my local Lowes and Home Depot had to offer in the way of ceiling tiles. I was hugely disappointed in the ceiling tile products carried by my local Lowes and Home Depot stores as the patterns were simple and the material was cheap and unappealing to me. I wanted something more authentic and better quality. I turned to the internet to begin my search for ceiling tiles. Again I was disappointed by the many competitor web-sites that simply had cheap plastic tiles with not much detail. I wanted better. I began to think that I would like a copper ceiling tile or an ornate tin or plastic tile. Although I searched for the terms "Real Copper Ceiling Tiles" and "Solid Copper Ceiling Tiles," my Google searches kept returning many competitors that only provided faux copper tiles. I found one competitor web-site that caught my eye and I ordered some samples of faux copper tiles from this competitor, but I was disappointed again when the samples were not as appealing as the photos on the competitor's web-site. Then I found Decorative Ceiling Tiles, Inc. This web-site certainly has many fantastic tiles of numerous material and patterns to choose from. In fact, there were so many patterns and different material to choose from, I was unable to make up my mind. So I ordered lots of samples. I ordered several highly ornate plastic samples, I ordered a few samples made from tin, and I ordered a few samples made from REAL SOLID copper. I even ordered a few samples of the same pattern in different materials one in real solid copper and one in tin to see which I liked better. I found the Decorative Ceiling Tiles web-site to be very informative and very easy to navigate. There was even a video tutorial where the owner of the Company, Mr. Milan Jara, shows you how to install certain types of ceiling tile. Even though I found the Decorative Ceiling Tile's web-site to be very informative, I had lots of questions, so I called the company. I was greeted by a very knowledgable sales representative, who answered all of my preliminary questions and then put me on the phone with the owner to discuss my more unique questions about real solid copper tiles in my application that I had in mind for my project. I placed the numerous samples I had ordered up onto the ceiling in a temporary fashion to live with them for a little bit and see which I liked the best. After living with the samples for a bit, I was ready to place my order and again, the owner, Mr. Milan Jara, took my call and helped me determine how much to order to account for cutting and scrap, and which copper cornice would work best. Mr. Milan Jara explained to me that using real solid copper tiles would require nailing up half-inch plywood to provide a good surface to nail into to support the heavier weight of the copper tiles as opposed to plastic tiles that can be simply glued to the ceiling. Mr. Jara also advised to use a quality glue such as liquid nails in addition to the copper nails that he recommended. He also advised to wear gloves so as not to get fingerprints on the real copper tiles as they are very hard to remove. Mr. Jara also explained to me that real copper tiles have a grain to them and that they are unidirectional and must be installed in the same direction otherwise they will refract light at different angles. I had a professional carpenter install the copper tiles and they look absolutely fantastic against the mahogany wood of the bar. These real solid copper tiles in the "Classic Casa Milano" pattern provide the WOW response from all my guests that I was looking for. Thank you Milan Jara and thank you Decorative Ceiling Tiles, Inc. for providing such superior quality products and courteous and professional support. I even loved some of the highly detailed plastic ceiling tiles that I ordered and will look to make use of them in other rooms as I continue my renovations. At one point I needed to return some other product that I had ordered but could not use and the return process was outlined on the web-site and very simple to follow. Again, I am extremely happy with my decision to purchase ceiling tiles from Decorative Ceiling Tiles, Inc., and I highly recommend this company to everyone thinking of adding some "WOW" to their ceiling with quality ceiling tiles.
