Rita Hodge helped us both with the landscape design of the project and with supervision of the installation. She was meticulous to every detail (plantings, soil, hardscape, drainage, irrigation) which I appreciated. We couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. She has created an oasis in the city!

Rita Hodge is a true perfectionist. She was always 10 steps ahead of any and every thing regarding the project and managed it from start to finish with a keen eye to each detail. Rita was instrumental in developing a beautiful landscape plan for our .65 acre property; a plan that our entire family will enjoy for years to come - two small children, grandparents, friends, (future) pets! Completely changed the look of my home by dramatically changing the landscaping. Recommended plants, trees, containers, paths and lightening arranged in ways I didn't dream of. Rita is great. She respected and designed around our quirks, she deferred to the architecture and the land, and is extremely knowledgeable about local plants. We interviewed several landscape architects prior to Rita before choosing her. Frankly the only mistake we made was not bringing her into the project sooner. She managed the bid process for the installation, and kept to her design budget. Would highly recommend to others.

We purchased our house in 2001 and had to watch our expenses carefully. Rita accommodated our modest budget and showed us how to phase in our landscaping over several years. We started with our front yard. The previous owner was an engineer who was into straight hedges. Rita has such a great eye for design. She softened our yard with a beautiful curved stone path and soft feng shui design. We truly love our front yard and receive many compliments. Our yard now has great bones thanks to Rita. Over the years we moved a few plants and added some trees but the plan has such substance there was very little to change. Rita showed us how to draw in nature. Our yard is full of life - butterflies, dragonflies, birds, bees - a yard that is colorful, thriving and vibrant. Her choices of native plants helps conserve water. Rita is also a master when it comes to 'covering up" unsightly buildings. We purchased a lion fountain, and were trying to decide where to place the fountain. We called in Rita to help and she created a vine-covered wall where there was none, right outside our dining room window. Now we enjoy a beautiful water feature with the sound of water and a lush plant covered wall of instead of looking out at our garage door. A few years ago we did some remodeling and decided to add some pavers to our backyard. After the install Rita came by to help with the garden design. While we love the pavers, I realize Rita would have given us a better design and choice of material. Afterwards we finished out our driveway and this time I called in Rita to help. She came up with a inovative design that incorporated our existing pavers and a natural gravel drive. Now as we drive into our driveway, we are enveloped with the softness and feel as well as sound of driving on the gravel that says..."we're home”! - a nice break from the noises and hard pavement of the city. An added and unexpected bonus... it attracts the dragonflies. Rita appreciates our input and is very adaptive to the environment she is working with. Our garden has stood the test of time and the patience of a very talented designer. Rita's design has given us a soothing environment, not just a pretty yard.
