Our experience with Kristen and her team was great. All questions answered quickly, the installation was efficient and accomplished by an experienced technician, and best of all - the blinds look great!

Kristen was fantastic to work with! She came to my house and we were able to discuss the look/design I was going for as well as some of the unique challenges I was solving for. She came up with a beautiful solution and I absolutely LOVE the new shades. Chris, the installer, was equally amazing. He was incredibly patient with the timeline as some remodeling took longer than expected. Then when there was one issue with the shades (a user error really), he was quick to come back out and help get it sorted out! I will definitely use this team again when I have other shades that need to be replaced!

Very pleased with the Hunter Douglas shades I got. Suzanne and the team at Rocky Mountain Shutters and Shades did a great job from helping me select the right type of shades and fabric to the installation.

We used this company to recommend and install window treatments for new home purchase. Very happy with overall experience which occurred during the height of COVID. Great response with quick attention after initial contact and wonderful personal service in home. Our representative was knowledgeable and offered opinions and solutions. We ordered a mix of wood shutters and shades. The install went seamlessly and finished products are expertly installed. I would recommend to anyone and call again.

100% Recommend Rocky Mountain Shutters & Shades! Entire staff is so polite and professional. Everyone that was in and out of our home introduced themselves, took their shoes off, wore a mask and was very respectful in our home. The process from start to finish was as painless as could be - they will help you with colors, types, etc and provide their professional opinions and ideas - which was extremely helpful for us. They even came back a 2nd time before we placed our order as I just wanted to 'double-check' it was exactly what we wanted. That was not an issue at all and they were happy to stop by again to show us what we picked out to ensure it was what we wanted. We couldn't be more thrilled with how everything turned out!

Kristin, the owner of Rocky Mountain Shutters & Shades, came to our house to show us all the possibilities for the window shades we were replacing. Two years prior, we had dealt with her father through this company and were completely happy with them. Got rid of some old bamboo rollups and replaced them with roller shades that look fresh and let in a lot more light. The installer, Chris, arrived when he said he would and was fast, efficient and friendly. They both were attentive to the current Covid protocols which my husband and I really appreciated. If we need more new window treatments in the future, we'll definitely be using Rocky Mountain Shutters & Shades.

I can’t recommend Rocky Mountain shutters, they did a large project with me. The sales girl at the time was super to work with but unfortunately when the owner came for final measure he decided to switch directions on some of bedroom shutters but forgot to switch one which is how hung opposite if all the rest. Additionally my office shutters were installed in opposite directions than ordered without my knowledge as well. When I called back about the problem my messages and emails were never answered until a couple months later when I physically had to go to their show room. Apparently the sales person did not want to have any hits to her commission prior to leaving the company she so never forwarded my communications to the owner. When the owner actually did called back he attempted to first try to blame me for the issue and then finally admitted that was thier fault but he didn’t think it was a big enough deal for him to replace. Translation, he didn’t want to pay to replace his mistake. As for the office shutters they were ordered incorrectly and the Hunter Douglas installers had to put them in the opposite direction because of the mismeasure and said the work that would be involved with the surrounding wainscoting to get it to work the way it was ordered was costly ( to them) and may damage my new wainscoting so I had to agree to keep it the way it was installed even though it was not how I ordered or wanted it. Again no apologies and no discount on thier mistakes. I was furious. Of course Rocky Mountains basically said too bad, live with it. I have another half of my home to be covered in shutters and there is no way I would ever work with them again. Everything’s great if they do their job right but if they make a mistake do not expect them to be friendly about it or to fix it. The Hunter Douglas installers were surprised by thier mistskes and directed me to another dealer. Very poor customer service. Very disappointed. They have lost out on my business as I’m getting ready to order the same Hunter Douglas for the section portion of my home and will not refer to my friends.

The other windows Alan suggested be switched at the final measure that 2 other panels be changed to “normal” hinge direction and you wanted to speak with your husband. You then emailed back and agreed to change and they were ordered the next day. When the shutters were installed you emailed your sales person and told her you “loved the new shutters.” I am sorry for your frustration and loss of future business. I am the new owner and if you would let me, I am happy to see if I can make it up to you in service, but understand if not.

I unfortunately would not recommend either Rocky Mountain Shutters or Hunter Douglas based on the endless amount of issues we experienced. We bought a fixer upper last July and had to complete the shutters in phases. The first round the shutters took close to 7 weeks and they were only delivered after I followed up multiple times. One panel arrived damaged so that replacement piece took literally another 6-7 weeks and I had no correspondence unless I was following up with them. Needless to say, we “fell through the cracks” and Hunter Douglas fully admitted to this.
Phase two with the next set of windows arrived much quicker 2-3 weeks and were installed without any issues so I thought we were in the clear. When I had RM Shutters come out to do the final bid they forgot to send the quotes or the samples for the roman shades we were looking into doing. After a week or two I had to follow up with our sales rep to get the quotes and ask about the samples. Again, we fell through the cracks. They told me probably 3 days in a row that the samples were then on their way, which they weren’t. When we finally received them, they weren’t even close to the samples I had picked out. RM Shutters blamed this on Hunter Douglas. Lots of disconnects and miscommunication between the two companies which made this very frustrating. We won’t be using them for the final phase of our remodel and I would not recommend either company. With this big of an investment in a home you should work with a company that doesn’t allow you to fall through the cracks.

Heather, as I stated to you I am very sorry. Your first order of shutters as you stated was due to an installer and his poor communication with you. We no longer use that installer because of that, and as you stated, you came back to us again and your second order was a smooth transaction and you are happy with both sets of shutters.
As for the Woven Wood samples, I apologize again. Hunter Douglas is improving their sample order system but it is not perfect. The samples said they left the factory, we had a tracking number with USPS, but it didn’t seem too accurate and through USPS the samples took awhile to arrive. When you told me the wrong samples arrived, I apologized again and offered to drop some off to you. I am so sorry for your experience.

We had a great experience and result working with Rocky Mountain Shutters and Shades! Suzanne was delightful and professional, and met us at the property with samples of shades, making our decision easy. The installers were great, and the shades were made quicker than expected. We love the new look of our windows and highly recommend this company!

I contacted Rocky Mountain Shutters and Shades online, and they responded within an hour. This impressed me right away, because I had originally contacted another local shop expressing interest in Hunter Douglas shades, and I never heard back from them. The RMS&S shop-at-home expert, Lane, came out to our home a few days later and measured all of our windows and brought samples of the products they offer. I already knew we wanted the Hunter Douglas Room Darkening Duette shades, since my son had purchased and installed them in his home in Kansas. We decided we couldn't afford to do the entire house at this time, so Lane was fine with revising the price quote. We were told the custom shades would take 5-6 weeks, but could possibly come in sooner. To tide us over in the meantime, Lane cut and installed temporary pleated paper shades, which worked amazingly well.
A few days later Ryan, the installer, came out to our home and re-measured the windows we were planning to do, just to make sure these custom shades would fit perfectly. Our shades came in about 4 weeks later, and Ryan returned to do the installations. He was very efficient and tidy, and made sure he cleaned up all the packaging materials he had brought.
We are thrilled with the Hunter Douglas blinds that RMS&S installed! We really couldn't be happier with their products or their service. Great job!!
