Why photography? With the click of a button I can freeze life's happiest moments for you to remember again and again, even decades into the future. Almost sounds like magic, doesn't it? Can you tell me more about the person behind the lens? Sure, I'll try not to take too much of your time. My name is Leslie Choucard. I was born and grew up in Paris, France. My mother is a writer, my dad a creative director and my brother a musician so I think it's safe to say creativity runs in the family! When I was 12 we packed up everything and moved all the way across the Atlantic to the USA for 10 months. Ever had an awkward new kid in your class that didn’t speak English? Well that was me and although the first couple of months were unbelievably hard it was the most enriching experience my parents could ever have given me. Time flew by and 10 months turned into 10 years. From Orlando to Sarasota to Georgia and many places in-between I immersed myself in a new culture and learned to love the diversity of the American way of life. Growing up I enjoyed horse-riding, painting and singing. But the hobby I practiced most besides photography was golf. What started as something to do after school in the 6th grade became a passion and after 8 years of hard work and dedication I earned a full scholarship to Flagler College in St. Augustine. I graduated with a 3.8 GPA and was the captain and MVP of my team. From there I decided to put my degree in Graphic Design and Spanish to good use while also satisfying my desire for more travel by moving to Barcelona to work for a creative agency. Another year, another beautiful city and when my contract ended I moved again to London where I discovered an amazing, vibrant culture. Moving around meant I wasn’t able to see the people and visit the places I had left behind. But the photographs I had taken transported me back in time and allowed me relive those moments as many times as I wanted. 10 years of experience in photography and my ability to speak English, French and Spanish means I am now able to travel between all my "home" countries and capture the most precious moments in my clients' lives.
