Any modern ideas on how to place cabinets etc for a small L-shaped kitchen layout approx 7ft w (wanting to use the majority of this wall for a large window for lake view) by approx 17ft long... Thanks

    There is so much help out there . Kitchen planners can put your floor plan in and show you the possibilities. I don't know what area of the country you are in but most will sit down with you and help you work out a plan.

    Having most of your cabinets on the long wall and all the way to the ceiling (Refrigerator, pantry cabinet, wall oven), will free the 7' long wall for the sink & DW base cabinet with a large long window (4'-5') above the sink and dish washer. Cooking top on the island???

    For more storage you can have a 7' long window with storage above the window if you have a tall ceiling...storage on the long wall and all the way to the ceiling.
