    Depending on the design, they can be a pain to clean around. If you do not select and position the sink and faucet correctly, there could be issues with splashing.



    Under mount sinks can be exciting and make a room look spacious.

    I completely agree with BeverlyFLADeziner's comment for bathrooms with frequent use. However, in a guest bath or powder room, a vessel sink can be like a beautiful piece of jewelry.

    I'm not a fan of vessel sinks! When I look at them and how they sit on a cabinet, all I can think of is continually having to clean up water. I like some of the new under mount sinks and my favorite sinks are pedestal sinks!

    Vessel sinks often drain very slowly because most do not have a built-in overflow which causes vapor lock (not enough air being admitted to allow proper drainage). It can be very frustrating. For this reason alone I always recommend against vessel sinks for my clients.

    If the faucet is mounted correctly there should not be excessive splashing.
