I would stick with a medium gray because it looks really well with the brick!

A neutral dark gray (with no blue undertones like above) and if it's a forever home consider recycled rubber slate look shingles (50 year warranty) It will pay for itself by the time you have to re-roof again with reg. shingles. And if shutters are added on a home they really need to be the correct size to match the window or they look odd. For landscaping consider adding a variety of trees and shrubs with the help of a landscape designer, as a yard without proper landscaping looks rather sad.

I think that the roof is too light. A dark charcoal presidential asphalt comp would ancore the house well. It will also open the door for almost any color combination you might choose for the ultimate color of you house. And when you want change the color in the future you will be able to.

Thank you all for taking the time to comment and provide your ideas....much appreciated! Should we take the shutters out? If only I had an app that could show us how that would look, that would be very helpful...What type of plants/bushes should we consider planting (something we can do slowly as the budget is very tight after having to pay for a roof).....

The shutters look fake since they are to small to cover the Windows. I would remove them and replace then only on the Windows that each shutter could cover half of the overall window width. Also using real shutter hardware will give your house a much richer look. You do not need an app to see what your house would look like without shutters. Do it the old fashion way. Print a couple of photos of your house and cut out portions of brick on one photo big enough to tape over the shutters on the other photo. A primitive photoshop.

It would help to know your garden zone. Yes you can absolutely tackle the yard in stages. Japanese maples, both compact and mid sized, are a go to for any yard, compact dwarf evergreens, azaleas and Rhodos, as well as decorative grasses are always good investment plants - and all of these require little in the way of maintenance
