Corian up stands above kitchen worktops

Would 5 inch Corian high upstands be better along back AND SIDES of worktop as opposed to just along he back. Difference of opinion between kitchen designer and our project manager. One say more practical to have on sides e,g. Better finish for wallpaper etc other says it'll look silly as it'll finish abruptly and not look good at all. Any advise please ?

    There are so many factors involved. These include proximity to sink and hob that will generate greater dirt, maintaining symmetry etc.

    For a larger kitchen you could possibly get away with only having upstands to the rear, but if there is a sink/drainer in close proximity, I would still avoid.

    A 5 inch high upstand does seem quite high, but this is entirely down to personal choice.

      Sorry just at planning stage no photo yet - the worktop will have hob and sink cut out and planning to have Corian splashback behind hob to just below extractor hood. 710 deep 3ft 6 in wide .

      Hi ajccac, we prefer a slightly short up stand. Having it coved we'll keep it easy to clean and blend the joins.
