what is the plant name for these rounded spheres?

    The lovely plant is Buxus sempervirens. It's very satisfying to prune, though I wet the leaves first to avoid scorching the cut ends of the leaves.m.I use old fashioned sheep clippers, small clippers you can use with one hand .

    It's very easy to take cuttings. Any larger pieces that you cut off, pick off the lower leaves that would otherwise be covered in compost then put the stem in a pot of compost covering the stems about three inches deep. Remember to water them. Leave them in a quiet corner to grow for you; much more quickly than you'd expect. They're happy as plants in sun or shade.

      They do make great topiary, but having had a lot of problems with box blight recently, I always recommend trying Yew (Taxus baccata) for topiary instead.

      I think those are green velvet boxwood. they naturally grow in a sphere shape, though they can be trimmed to any shape. they are very hardy and resistant to disease.
