wallpaper clash?

Hi we would like to do a feature wall in our extension where the TV will hang, next to it is an alcove where we want to build a bar area.
We’ve chosen these wallpapers but will they clash?

The geometric design will be the main wall and the crushed velvet foil in the bar alcove.

Perhaps this one, but you really need to see samples together. The light in the photos of the wallpaper could be really different.

    Ooo, nice! But not cheap...

I like this too. Anyway, just giving some examples of what I think will work better. Might be different in real life, when you hold samples together.

Can I ask you why you want to wallpaper both areas?

Thank you @carolina lots of nice suggestions
@ED - we want to make two separate areas in the one room.

Sure, but I wanted to know why you're not considering papering one area and paint the other.

    Just out of interest. :)

I'm with E D. Two papers in the same room not so great, especially if they are close together. Why not post a pic that would help?

This is the area - we wanted to have a “bit of bling” in the bar alcove area

I think two papers Carolina suggested work really well together. The geometric metallic for the chimney wall and the tropical for the, bar alcove.

I like the geometric one the velvet crush one is very cheap looking I certainly wouldn't put up two different wallpapers in one room I think you would definitely regret it, if the room could take it use black on the opposite wall to the papered one with some Art Deco inspired accessories

If you chose the wallpaper from a book there should be a ‘family’ of papers that are designed to go together. The crushed silver is not a good match but if you can find a plain silver that matches the shade and tone of what I think is silver in the geometric paper, that should work.
Buying paper from DIY sheds is fine, but they don’t generally give you groups or families that are designed to go together. If you want to use more than one paper in a room, it’s better to go to a wallpaper shop where they will have hundreds of books in all price rages and styles.
Alternatively try online wallpaper specialists, you can get samples sent to you before you buy.
BTW, I think the geometric paper, if it’s silver and beige, (difficult to tell from the pics), is pretty bling in its own right and I’d let the furniture speak rather than put a different paper behind it.

You could put mirror behind the bar area.

Or antiqued mirror tiles or one piece:

thank you all for your kind advise - i think we will change our plans and either change the paper design to match the geometric or put some kind of mirror.

I love the antiqued mirror tiles that Carolina has suggested. Would look amazing with a cocktail area/bar cart in front
    Good luck
