Contemporary Terrace Billericay
The solution in designing and executing the engineering that's hidden in this elevated terrace, is what makes Cube 1994 stand out from other landscape gardeners. The client had a set budget and it was Sean's task to come up with a solution that suited both the budget and aesthetic. An extension for a gym was also proposed on the right hand side of the house, we had to bring in a mini-piling rig to bore the foundations, make the reinforced steel cages and ring beams. A raft with a reinforced steel construction was the solution, onto which a block built wall, with a concrete block and beam floor system to support the new terrace areas was constructed.
Slatted screen trellis either side of the terrace, together with large pleached Quercus Ilex gave our clients the necessary privacy they craved.
Six sided, sawn sandstone was used on both terraces with a semi circle deck joining the two areas.
Bespoke made steel planters were created to bring planting up to the terrace and these were powder-coated in our clients favourite colour, purple. Nandina Domestica was chosen as an edging plant for its variety of colour changes through the seasons and being evergreen gives interest all year.
The finishing touch was a bespoke made sofa set in our client's choice of colour, lime green (homage to Cube!)
