Choose materials carefully:
Sustainable materials such as engineered wood products, composite materials and steel, often use less raw material and are more durable than traditional building materials.
Also look for opportunities to salvage and reuse materials.
Try to think beyond the aesthetic when choosing materials. Let the materials speak for themselves by choosing structural systems that do not need to be covered up. The structure is the finished product.
