Gospel Oak House
We designed and detailed the lush, mainly evergreen garden to complement the house and take advantage of its warm south-facing orientation. To increase the feeling of width in this typically narrow London garden, we avoided any paths from front to back and ran the formal fish pond across its width. A circular sitting area of Staffordshire blue engineering brick tones in with granite paving and culminates the garden without stopping the eye. As in the interior, limiting the colour palette and providing a flowing but articulated space enlarges the feeling of the garden while maintaining character and intimacy.
