Coppercreek LandscapingPerched on a hillside on the edge of the Palouse, these homeowners wanted a backyard that took advantage of the stellar views across the surrounding farmland. Masonry retaining walls match the brick of the house, while the landscaping complements the vistas below.
The water feature has multiple falls that cascade into a deep wading pool below. The concrete patio is cantilevered over the water for a seamless transition. Across the top pool, boulder stepping stones continue the path to the upper patio.

The pool was updated and the Corten steel arbor cleverly cantilevered on this 5 acre property. Using a crib wall system (Slope Block) allowed us to create lush terraces from toe to top - garden pathways lined with boulders create the illusion they were always there. The Slope Block was acid stained and planted so they eye can see just a hint of the bones through the lush California and Australian native plants and trees.

The existing garden was dominated by hard landscaping and very few plants. What was required was something more in keeping with the surroundings that enabled the owners to sit, relax and enjoy the view.
Jo considered a number of materials for the path but felt that timber was the most appropriate and sensitive to the site's location. However, having used decking only a few times before, she felt that a little more research was required. Jo was aware of Silva Timber through gardening press and a recommendation from a fellow designer. Having contacted us and requested samples, Western Red Cedar, Yellow Balau, Ipé and Mandioqueira were shortlisted. Jo wanted to see the products herself in person, so a visit to the Cheshire branch in Widnes was arranged...

UserFront yard landscape remodel. We removed the existing sidewalk from the entry and installed a paver sidewalk to match the paver driveway. We extended it to the street between 2 pillars for a more grand entrance. The rock was removed and replaced with synthetic grass, mounding, and desert plants. The yard took on a completely new look and fit much nicer in this Chandler custom home neighborhood.
