Contemporary home office in loft conversion. This space is designed to be multi-functional as an office space and guest room. The finishes are have been considered for their sustainability and where possible waste or left over materials have been re-used in the design. The flooring is cork and the wall panelling and shelves are made from re-purposed floor boards left over from the ground floor refurbishment.

Our Pasadena studio transformed this 1908 carriage house for our clients, a husband-and-wife team who own a leading Family Law practice in Pasadena. We created an inspiring workspace that doubles as a craft area, promising to boost energy and promote relaxation. We started with Thibaut's eye-catching Dynasty collection wallcovering, which served as an inspiration for the space and satisfied the client's love of mood-boosting color. Charming floral-inspired hardware from Modern Matter (with original roots as a jewelry atelier) serves as a nod to the client's love of fine detail and complements the room's botanical wallcovering. We also carved out a dedicated jewelry-making area, which serves as a relaxing break from day-to-day pressures. Built-in desks, cabinets, and tall storage from California Closets make organizing a breeze. At the same time, plants, improved LED lighting, a music system, and vibrant colors enhance the space's mood-boosting benefits promoting creativity, focus, and energy – a perfect antidote to a hectic digital lifestyle.

Graced with an abundance of windows, Alexandria’s modern meets traditional exterior boasts stylish stone accents, interesting rooflines and a pillared and welcoming porch. You’ll never lack for style or sunshine in this inspired transitional design perfect for a growing family. The timeless design merges a variety of classic architectural influences and fits perfectly into any neighborhood. A farmhouse feel can be seen in the exterior’s peaked roof, while the shingled accents reference the ever-popular Craftsman style. Inside, an abundance of windows flood the open-plan interior with light. Beyond the custom front door with its eye-catching sidelights is 2,350 square feet of living space on the first level, with a central foyer leading to a large kitchen and walk-in pantry, adjacent 14 by 16-foot hearth room and spacious living room with a natural fireplace. Also featured is a dining area and convenient home management center perfect for keeping your family life organized on the floor plan’s right side and a private study on the left, which lead to two patios, one covered and one open-air. Private spaces are concentrated on the 1,800-square-foot second level, where a large master suite invites relaxation and rest and includes built-ins, a master bath with double vanity and two walk-in closets. Also upstairs is a loft, laundry and two additional family bedrooms as well as 400 square foot of attic storage. The approximately 1,500-square-foot lower level features a 15 by 24-foot family room, a guest bedroom, billiards and refreshment area, and a 15 by 26-foot home theater perfect for movie nights.

Under the Roof Decorating
We started by painting a feature wall with Benjamin Moore Antiguan Sky which instantly brightened up the space. We made our very own artwork using colored pastel crafting paper bought and inserted it into white frames we already had. Swapping artwork is an easy way to change your décor for the holidays or as the seasons change.
When we hung our pictures, we kept the spacing consistent between each to keep the look calm and relaxing.
The combination of the white IKEA desk, lamp, chair and picture frames creates a bright fresh and feminine feel for the space. The trendy floral pillow and turquoise stool give the room the right punch of color and elegance. And of course, a vase of fresh flowers is always a perfect finishing touch for any room.

This custom workstation is constructed out of paint grade material and topped off with a heavy body, high-gloss conversion varnish. The idea came from a game that I played as a kid, "Tetris". MY client wanted something different and new, so this is what was created. The two walls of cabinets are a combination of drawers and doors to help organize and compartmentalize are her tools. With both parents in this Chiswick family working from home for the foreseeable future, there was an urgent need to create more space as the home office wasn’t big enough for the two of them. So the simple solution was to create a garden office - one that embraced the outoors but which was also within easy reach of the kitchen for a coffee top up.
Reclaimed cladding was used externally to give the office a weathered look, whilst colourful wallpaper and painted doors helped to brighten the space and make it feel more homely. Re-used laboratory worktops form the desk and shelves, and vintage furniture was found for storage.
As an added extra, it was designed so that the concertina doors could open right up to view the television - suspended on an extending bracket - so that the whole family can enjoy movies and sport outside in the summer months.
