Samantha Watkins McRaeHaving worked on the re-design to the basement of this family home three years ago, we were thrilled to be asked to come back and look at how we could re-configure the ground floor to give this busy family more storage and entertainment space, whilst stamping the clients distinctive and elegant style on their home.
We added a new kitchen island and converted underused aspects with bespoke joinery design into useful storage. By moving the dining table downstairs we created a social dining and sitting room to allow for additional guests. Beaded panelling has been added to the walls to bring character and elegance, whilst the clients innate taste has allowed her style to shine through in the furniture and fittings selected.

Sustainable KitchensThis Shaker style kitchen has a central island painted in Little Greene Verditer with contrasting wooden handles painted in Dock Blue. The island oak worktop has an overhang to form a breakfast bar. A farmhouse style oak table with bright pink and coral chairs sits in the background. The floors are painted wood floor boards. The breakfast bar chairs are an Eames style with white moulded seats. Two Neff ovens sit in the island with an induction hob on the oak worktop.

Sustainable KitchensThis Shaker style kitchen has perimeter cabinets are painted in Little Greene Dock Blue with wooden handles painted in Green Verditer. A Belfast style Shaws ceramic sink sits on the perimeter run of cabinets with a brushed satin nickel mixer tap . The worktop is an Arenastone Egineered Quartz in Bianco Nuvolo, with white metro tiles as the splashback with dark grey grout.

Create Good SinksCreate Good Sinks' 46" workstation sink. This 16 gauge stainless steel undermount sink replaced the dinky drop-in prep sink that was in the island originally. Cherry cabinets from previous owner's reno were retrofitted with new quartz countertops (Midnight Corvo in matte finish seen here on the island), new sinks and faucets. Island was extended from 5' to 11.5' and includes seating on one end. Walls were painted fresh white. Two Create Good Sinks "Ardell" faucets were installed with this sink to make it easy for two cooks in the kitchen.
Sustainable KitchensThis Shaker style kitchen has perimeter cabinets are painted in Little Greene Dock Blue with wooden handles painted in Green Verditer . The perimeter worktop is an Engineered Quartz in Bianco Nuvolo with a small upstand with a Shaws double Belfast style ceramic sink with a brushed Nickel mixer tap. The drainer grooves have been rebated into the Arenastone engineered quartz worktop at the back of the sink which sits in the old fireplace.
