Using man-made boulders and pavers from the same company and color palette made for a beautiful and consistent look that was cost effective and efficient. This separated the septic system and kept it out of sight as well as created a cozy area for summer family get togethers.

Lacey ArchitectureA green roof near the end of its flowering season. This large green roof in Bath is just coming up to two years old and was planted with a mix of seeds and plug plants.
There is still patchy growth, but overall looks green (rather than brown!).
Shortly more naturalising spring bulbs will be planted to increase the roof's flowering season. Spring bulbs never seem to be mentioned in any guidance on green roofs, but we have had great success on several projects adding a burst of extra colour.
This roof is on an outbuilding (unheated) and so bulbs come out later than on the ground. But other projects are on extensions (heated) and despite all the insulation in the roof it means the bulbs come out early. Forming a wonderful burst of colour in early spring!
