Wattlebird EcoWattlebird Eco was commissioned to furnish and style this rustic outdoor space for a family with two young children. The brief was to make it more habitable and functional for relaxing together as a family. With the client’s input, we chose to utilise existing outdoor wicker chairs that had weathered beautifully, and updating them with new cushions upholstered in quality outdoor fabric with green credentials. Locally sourced timber logs were brought in as stools and side tables and their flourishing little veggie cart was brought closer to the scene to get the kids more involved with harvesting their own leafy greens. A locally made hammock chair swings in the breeze inviting some quiet reading when time permits!

Seattle Urban Farm CompanyA large south-facing suburban front lawn was converted into an edible garden that doubles as a dynamic and functional threshold to the front entryway of the home. The client, a young family with 2 small children, needed the space to remain relatively low maintenance and act as a teaching tool for the kids. The stone and timber raised beds and simple pathways help contain the gardening spaces and maintain clear lines to move through the site, whether it be to the front door, the driveway, or another part of the garden.
Layered around the clean, simple lines of the terraced garden are more organic spaces that are planted with perennial beneficial and edible flowers and along the fence line is a single sweep of lavender.

UserElizabeth Leonard- The home owner wanted to squeeze in a veggie garden without sacrificing too much of her yard where her children play, as well as securing the garden from the local deer population. For an added touch we planted deer resistant herbs and ornamentals surrounding the enclosure. We succeeded in providing an aesthetically pleasing garden that produced enough for this small family, by using the space she had effectively. The deer fencing blends into the environment while securing her harvest . All while staying within her budget.
