Ortus ExteriorsOrtus Exteriors - This beautiful one-acre home needed an even more beautiful outdoor upgrade! The pool features a large tanning ledge, an elevated back wall with 3 sheer-descent waterfalls, a TurboTwist slide, and PebbleSheen Irish Mist finish. Travertine pavers were used for the decking. The elevated spa has a waterfall spillway and a curved ledge with smooth 1" tile. The 600 sq. ft. pool cabana is perfect for those hot Texas summers! Besides the convenient bathroom, outdoor shower, and storage space, there's an entire kitchen for backyard chefs. Granite counter tops with outlets for appliances and a sink will take care of all the prep work, and a stainless steel grill with a side burner and smoker will take care of the meats. In the corner, a built-in vented stone fireplace with a mounted TV and seating area allows for movies, shows, and football games. Outside the drop-ceiling cabana is a gas fire pit with plenty of seating for s'mores nights. We put on the finishing touches with appropriate landscaping and lighting. It was a pleasure to design and build such an all-encompassing project for a great customer!

The reclaimed brick wall and walkway give a sense that the space is much older. Several varieties of palms and flowering shrubs create an oasis with year-round color.

CST Design Group LLCA small and narrow back yard space was transformed into a great outdoor living space. The clients objectives were to have a shaded outdoor cooking space, pool with a water feature, fire pit, new deck, outdoor shower, all while feeling like a seamless design.

The entire basement level room had to be excavated and all the walls which were structural load bearing, had to be underpinned with an additional three feet of dry Gunite process concrete to support the terrace above.

This two-tier, newly remodeled pool belongs to Dane Palmero, the owner of Overflow Pool Construction & Repair located in Phoenix, AZ. Not only does this pool defy gravity, but it also beautifully blends all three of our PebbleTec product lines: Pool Finishes, Lightstreams Glass Tile and Fire + Water Outdoor Elements.
Materials used: PebbleSheen Blue Surf with Luminous Blue Blend, Lightstreams Glass Tile Gold Iridescent Collection Silverado, Fire + Water Cast Stone Fire Bowl and Lava Rock.

The Design Studio of Wendy HarperThe pool area features a rectangular pool with Santa Barbara stone coping. The pool has color changing lights and underwater speakers.
The pool is flanked by a dining and lounging pergola. Columns of molded brick with Santa Barbara stone bases support the wooden trellis above. Steve Handleman lights of Santa Barbara hang between each bay. As an end focal point of this space, I designed a quaint pool bath house using 500 year old church windows and Santa Barbara Stone. One of the outside corners of the pool bath house is an outdoor shower. Hand-turned guard rails line the edge of the Ipe wood deck overlooking the creek below. All of the pottery, as well as, the church window were purchase from our friends at Eye of the Day.
A unique feature to this pool area is that there is a vault beneath the pool area containing a generator to power the residence for two weeks. This challenge in design led to me bringing the exhaust stacks inside of one of the pergola columns and venting above. The pool equipment is also located in the vault.

Rogan Nash Architects LtdThis thoughtfully renovated 1920’s character home by Rogan Nash Architects in Auckland’s Westmere makes the most of its site. The homeowners are very social and many of their events centre around cooking and entertaining. The new spaces were created to be where friends and family could meet to chat while pasta was being cooked or to sit and have a glass of wine while dinner is prepared. The adjacent outdoor kitchen furthers this entertainers delight allowing more opportunity for social events. The space and the aesthetic directly reflect the clients love for family and cooking.
