Jason's Reading Nook
Jason, an 11 year old boy and avid reader, loves his reading nook. The use of two complimentary colors in this room are repeated in clever ways. The blue accent color is repeated on the wall circles and the back of Jason's bookcase.
The "Walter Circles" from Design Public are wood and come primed, they have adhesive on the back for easy installation. The poster was purchased from a museum gift shop and laminated at Kinko's. The wall mounted swing-arm-lamp gives Jason more surface space for his books and collections.
This 10' x 10' room makes use of every square inch. A floor to ceiling custom bookcase was built to hold all of Jason's books in addition to his gem and mineral collection. His room also has wall shelves (www.potterybarn.com) that hold a substantial amount of books without projecting into this small space. Jason's dad installed a small rounded "desk/shelf" under Jason's window to give him a place to do his homework and also act as a nightstand. Janice Peters, Distinctive Decor.
