See what our client say about this project:
It went as smooth as it possibly could go. The only bumps in the road was with what we found during demolition, you never know what your gonna run into when all the walls, floors and fixtures come out. Paul had explained to us that depending on what we found under all the out dated stuff it might take a little longer. Paul was there doing the work with his workers he showed up on time and finished on schedule. It was no problem being in touch with Paul because he answered his phone or got back to us in a timely fashion. He has an excellent sense of design he knows what goes well together and makes the house flow with comfort and usability.

The “No longer peach abode” is a well loved house from the 1990s. The thing with the 90s, is peach was a big deal. Thankfully, we had a large footprint to work with, so my client’s dream kitchen was possible! With beautiful counters from Allstone and custom made cabinet refacing, we were able to bring a dated kitchen into this decade. While we were at it, Certapro painters repainted the house top to bottom, and all the light fixtures were replaced! The original hardwood floors were refinished and turned out beautifully with the darker stain.

After scoring this amazing home, the clients were excited for their new lakefront location, but the home's style and materials were tired and dated. There was way too much mauve granite, and the 90's building codes were no longer satisfactory.
Working as a team with Chuckanut Builders, Arbour North Architects and Smith and Vallee Woodworks, the home was gutted in order to prepare for a new interior layout, an addition to the second floor, and deep energy retrofits. Cork exterior insulation and new efficient windows were just two of the many upgrades this home received.
Throughout the interior, flat panel walnut cabinets were installed on top of white oak floors. White quartz countertops and simple subway tile kept the home clean and contemporary. The fireplace received a special large format tile, which highlighted the vaulted living room.

Israel's guest bathroom had an outdated appearance that needed updating. The worn-out finishes and antiquated decor were no longer functional and needed a contemporary touch.
Israel began the renovation project with the goal of seamlessly combining aesthetics and functionality. His goal was to optimize the space while sticking to the same layout as well as add modern elements with a welcoming ambiance.
The old vanity was removed, as well as the half wall that separated the toilet from the vanity area. Israel selected sleek brushed nickel fixtures which added a luxury hotel vibe to the bathroom.
Israel chose a Pearl Jasmine Quartz Countertop, a LED Lighted Mirror, and a Cassandra Vanity Light to add the desired modern upgrade he hoped for.

Many families ponder the idea of adding extra living space for a few years before they are actually ready to remodel. Then, all-of-the sudden, something will happen that makes them realize that they can’t wait any longer. In the case of this remodeling story, it was the snowstorm of 2016 that spurred the homeowners into action. As the family was stuck in the house with nowhere to go, they longed for more space. The parents longed for a getaway spot for themselves that could also double as a hangout area for the kids and their friends. As they considered their options, there was one clear choice…to renovate the detached garage.
The detached garage previously functioned as a workshop and storage room and offered plenty of square footage to create a family room, kitchenette, and full bath. It’s location right beside the outdoor kitchen made it an ideal spot for entertaining and provided an easily accessible bathroom during the summertime. Even the canine family members get to enjoy it as they have their own personal entrance, through a bathroom doggie door.
Our design team listened carefully to our client’s wishes to create a space that had a modern rustic feel and found selections that fit their aesthetic perfectly. To set the tone, Blackstone Oak luxury vinyl plank flooring was installed throughout. The kitchenette area features Maple Shaker style cabinets in a pecan shell stain, Uba Tuba granite countertops, and an eye-catching amber glass and antique bronze pulley sconce. Rather than use just an ordinary door for the bathroom entry, a gorgeous Knotty Alder barn door creates a stunning focal point of the room.
The fantastic selections continue in the full bath. A reclaimed wood double vanity with a gray washed pine finish anchors the room. White, semi-recessed sinks with chrome faucets add some contemporary accents, while the glass and oil-rubbed bronze mini pendant lights are a balance between both rustic and modern. The design called for taking the shower tile to the ceiling and it really paid off. A sliced pebble tile floor in the shower is curbed with Uba Tuba granite, creating a clean line and another accent detail.
The new multi-functional space looks like a natural extension of their home, with its matching exterior lights, new windows, doors, and sliders. And with winter approaching and snow on the way, this family is ready to hunker down and ride out the storm in comfort and warmth. When summer arrives, they have a designated bathroom for outdoor entertaining and a wonderful area for guests to hang out.
It was a pleasure to create this beautiful remodel for our clients and we hope that they continue to enjoy it for many years to come.

This family home is located in Sydneys Inner West suburb of Haberfield. The architecture a traditional Californian bungalow with high internal ceilings, traditional cornices and mouldings. This bathroom was the only bathroom and with two children now young adults, this bathroom was no longer functional for the entire family. This family was desperate for a clever design, that was modern and fresh, however, complimenting traditional interiors. The clients required a vanity/bench to accommodate two people, freestanding bath, large shower, heated towel rails and towel storage. To fit all the requirements into the existing small footprint, and still have a functional space, was set to be a challenge! Additionally, on the back wall was a large framed window consuming space. The preference was for a more luxurious, contemporary style with timber accents, rather than ultra-crisp and modern. Maximising storage was imperative and the main difficulty was improving the access to the bathroom from the corridor, without comprising the existing linen cabinet. Firstly, the bathroom needed to be slightly bigger in order to accommodate all the clients requirements and as it was the sole family bathroom and it would be a final renovation –this justified increasing its size. We utilized the space where the linen cabinet was in the hallway, however replaced it with another that was recessed from the hallway side into the bathroom. It was disguised in the bathroom by the timber look tiled wall, that we repeated in the shower. By finishing these walls shorter and encasing a vertical led profile within, it gave them a purpose. Increasing the space also provided an opportunity to relocate the entry door and build a wall to recess three mirror cabinets, a toilet cistern and mount a floating bench and double drawer unit. The door now covered the toilet on entry, revealing a grand bathing platform on the left, with a bathtub and large shower, and a new wall that encased a generous shower niche and created a place for heated towel rails. Natural light is important, so the window wasnt removed just relocated to maximise the shower area.To create a sense of luxury, led lighting was mounted under the vanity and bathing platform for ambience and warmth. A contemporary scheme was achieved by using an Australian timber for the custom made bench, complimenting timber details within the home, and warmth added by layering the timber and marble porcelain tiles over a grey wall and floor tile as the base. For the double vanity the bench and drawers are asymmetrically balanced with above counter bowls creating a relaxed yet elegant feThe result of this space is overwhelming, it offers the user a real bathing experience, one that is rich in texture and material and one that is engaging thru design and light. The brief was meet and sum, the clients could not be happier with their new bathroom.

The project created by Studio Alpha, based in Lissone, Monza-Brianza, provided for the renovation of a traditional single-storey dwelling and storage spaces for handicraft activities which were located along the perimeter of a 65x43 metre plot of land, bounded by two roads. Architect Designer Desirena Fossati has focused on a solution to meet the customer's demands, namely, the desire to create an intimate space, closed to public view, in the same place where he had grown up as a child, which required the partial demolition of the existing structures.
With regards to the above-ground portion, the design tried to keep the “memories” of the Client, both in terms of the structure’s volume and of the materials used.
In addition to residential building, the design of the Studio Alfa firm always provides for a broader view of the context, also proposing the creation of outdoor spaces (new roads, car parks, public parks, connections) to complete a facility. Therefore, the fact of having to create “important” foundations has led Arch. Fossati to develop the excavation basement floor as a large multiple-car garage, to house up to 5 vehicles, and that could be used as storage or covered play area if necessary.
Not to devour the inner garden with open-air concrete ramps, the Architect immediately came up with the solution of a concealed car lift to take a number of vehicles to the basement, which would no longer take up space on the ground floor.
The car lift of this project features the IP1-CM FF42 model with a covering roof and 4 side columns without central bulking, allowing the entire, comfortable opening of the car doors. The Designer’s concerns to protect the Client’s young children from a not very “homely” device were soon dispelled thanks to a technical briefing aimed at highlighting the system security systems.
KitchenLab Interiors
KitchenLab Interiors’ first, entirely new construction project in collaboration with GTH architects who designed the residence. KLI was responsible for all interior finishes, fixtures, furnishings, and design including the stairs, casework, interior doors, moldings and millwork. KLI also worked with the client on selecting the roof, exterior stucco and paint colors, stone, windows, and doors. The homeowners had purchased the existing home on a lakefront lot of the Valley Lo community in Glenview, thinking that it would be a gut renovation, but when they discovered a host of issues including mold, they decided to tear it down and start from scratch. The minute you look out the living room windows, you feel as though you're on a lakeside vacation in Wisconsin or Michigan. We wanted to help the homeowners achieve this feeling throughout the house - merging the causal vibe of a vacation home with the elegance desired for a primary residence. This project is unique and personal in many ways - Rebekah and the homeowner, Lorie, had grown up together in a small suburb of Columbus, Ohio. Lorie had been Rebekah's babysitter and was like an older sister growing up. They were both heavily influenced by the style of the late 70's and early 80's boho/hippy meets disco and 80's glam, and both credit their moms for an early interest in anything related to art, design, and style. One of the biggest challenges of doing a new construction project is that it takes so much longer to plan and execute and by the time tile and lighting is installed, you might be bored by the selections of feel like you've seen them everywhere already. “I really tried to pull myself, our team and the client away from the echo-chamber of Pinterest and Instagram. We fell in love with counter stools 3 years ago that I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on, thank god, because then they started showing up literally everywhere", Rebekah recalls. Lots of one of a kind vintage rugs and furnishings make the home feel less brand-spanking new. The best projects come from a team slightly outside their comfort zone. One of the funniest things Lorie says to Rebekah, "I gave you everything you wanted", which is pretty hilarious coming from a client to a designer.

This spacious, yet extremely friendly and inviting home lacked a kitchen with personality and functionality for this growing family and their desire to entertain others. The goal for this renovation was to provide for new and larger appliances, maintain views to the rear yard, and provide family seating space within the kitchen.
The home’s existing exterior architecture provides references reminiscent Italian villas with terra cotta clay tile roofing, half-round steel windows and ornate stonework. The interior evokes similar images through the use of warm earth tone wall colors, hardwood floors, wrought-iron railings and plastered walls.
The home’s existing pallet of aged materials and their warm earth tones was reinforced with the selection of new finish materials such as: red brick, limestone veneer, linoleum flooring, African-mahogany cabinets, quartz perimeter countertops, copper sinks, exhaust hood and island counter, and oil-rubbed bronze hardware and fixtures. Because matching the exterior brick veneer was no longer a possibility, the combination of limestone veneer and copper sheet metal was selected for the new exterior; both being chosen for their warmth and timeless character. In addition, new hand-crafted wrought-iron doors and windows with energy-efficient insulated glass and ornate scrollwork were chosen in lieu of wood or clad-wood windows to replicate the home’s original steel and leaded-glass windows.
With time (and some patina), this inviting kitchen addition will blur the lines between “old” and “new.”
