I have worked with Shaila for many years, through several moves and "downsizing" and my experience with her knowledge and advice just gets better all the time. She has a rare gift of being able to tune in to her clients' taste and budget and come up with innovative and stunning suggestions and design. With each move Shaila had marvellous ideas as to how to "recycle" my existing furniture and things that I didn't want to part with. I am still amazed at her knowledge of the market, at her ability to call upon the very finest vendors and workmen, and her accessibility when there is a question or a problem, or when you want to meet with her. Her sunny personality is very welcome, as is her sense of humour, especially when one is stressed about the decision making and the changes regarding one's surroundings. If I could award her more than 5 stars, I certainly would,

Shaila Gottlieb is a stellar designer. She helped transform our entire house into our dream home. Our project evolved over several stages. We began with a structural redesign of our front hall closet and moved on to several built-in components in our living room and bedroom. By far, the largest and most complex undertaking was a new kitchen. Shaila was meticulous in taking our needs into account and designed a kitchen that has precisely met our expectations. She helped choose the quartzite countertop, which is a stunning kitchen feature. The end result is a kitchen that is both functional and beautiful. Shaila helped with wallpaper selection in our den, as well as furniture and drapery design throughout our home. She has an unmatchable eye for fabric and paint colour. Shaila wants her clients to be 100% satisfied and goes our of her way to ensure they are happy. She is a joy to work with -- a great listener who never gets flustered. We have used Shaila for a long time now. Although there have been multiple projects, our experience with bathrooms will highlight her talents and integrity. Quite a few years ago, she oversaw our master bathroom reno. The walls were removed, as well as the floor and ceiling. When the floorplan was laid out, it didn't work. We stopped, reformulated the plan, and together came up with a workable and highly desirable solution. She stayed on budget, and her contractors were capable and easy to work with. The wallpaper guy really screwed up with expensive paper. She made him remove it, bought new product and got us a superb replacement contractor. A few years later we were thinking of moving and wanted Shaila to basically stage the other two bathrooms upstairs. She found materials and fixtures that worked and looked great at a fraction of the cost we spent on the ensuite. She is decidedly easy to work with. G

Shaila has been instrumental in creating a new bathroom in the basement of our home and renovating the bathroom in the master bedroom. Shaila is professional and strives for excellent customer service. I heavily relied on Shaila's expertise, experience and creativity for tackling the renovation projects. She takes her work very seriously and goes above and beyond what is expected in order to please her clients. At times the renovations did not go as planned but Sheila seamlessly stepped in to quickly resolve issues and dealt with contractors leaving no stones unturned. Let's just put it this way, every time I move I bring Shaila with me. No one else can make my space as beautiful as she can. Since meeting her in 2013 when she staged and readied my home for sale, I have realized she can work in any environment, house, townhouse, and condominium and always deliver her signature style and taste while observing the integrity of the space. Our latest project was a stunningly beautiful built-in bar for my condominium with glass shelves, a mirrored back panel, pot lights, and crystal door knobs. While not a big project, Shaila provided oversight for every detail from design to decor to installation. She even took me shopping to fill in the spaces on the empty shelf with beautiful blown glass pieces. I love my bar and working with Shaila. They will both be with me for a long time to come.

We hired Shaila to redesign /redecorate our newly purchased condo. This started out with advice on new flooring and paint colours while we were still living in Ottawa. Upon our move to Toronto, her involvement progressed to redesigning our kitchen and guest bathroom complete with advice and assistance on selection of all materials, dealing with suppliers as well as providing advice and assistance in selecting new furniture, lighting and artwork for our living and dining areas and bedrooms. The transformation is remarkable and Shaila has been a joy to have as our design and decoration quarterback! Shaila is always quick to respond to emails and phone calls. We don't know how we would have managed without her!

We hired Shaila to assist us with the hanging and placement of a number of unframed family photos. Shaila was invaluable in assisting us in picking the photos to tell a story and then having them hung. The challenge was the various sizes of the photos along with the curved staircase wall. Not only did she manage to place them and have them hung, she left us enough room to accomodate more pictures of our growing family. The final product was exactly what we had hoped for and more. We would recommend Shaila to anyone who has a design challenge. She thinks outside the box and has impeccable taste.

Shaila is the best interior designer I ever met. She provided the professional interior designs and the project management service as a whole package for my two renovations. She is very knowledgeable and patient, open to the ideas that we want to have, and tries her best to make sure we are satisfied with results but with the reasonable costs for the best quality materials. Would highly recommend Montdor Interiors for any work you are planning to do in your home. This was the first time I worked with a designer, it started with window coverings then moved to transforming my living room - putting in a fireplace and built in shelves, and redesigning the entire area, then moved on to my personal closet in my bedroom (needed better closet space and Shaila suggested just widening the doors - why I did not think of this in the last 30 years? What a difference and at little cost. Then we moved onto new flooring and a redo of our stair case. Shaila listened to what I was looking for and added so much more than I could think of. She soon learned my style and always had complementary suggestions to offer. The contractors she recommended were very professional and delivered what was agreed to on time, I was very pleased with all the work. The best thing working with Shaila was she was always cost conscious, and was always able to work with my schedule. I highly recommend Montdor Interiors and look forward with working with Shaila again. I was concerned with using a designer - not anymore.

Shaila is a pleasure to work with. She understood our vision right away and was always available to plan and support. Shaila did a main floor reno (kitchen, den, bath) and a backyard redo for us. She has an incredible eye for design and detail and takes everything from space, lines, colour, light and function into account. Shaila was always available to consult and check in throughout the projects we did. She totally thought outside the box and pushed us out of our comfort zone without getting too crazy. I hired Montdor to design and manage a complete renovation of the house to transform it from a dated 1950's look into a 2020 look. I had used Montdor to do a condominium renovation for me several year ago, so I had confidence. This was a very extensive renovation. It involved extending the front of the house, rebuilding the 2-car garage, removing walls to create a modern larger kitchen and open concept diningroom/livingroom, adding 2 bathrooms and modernizing the existing bathrooms and powder room, redoing the electrical and plumbing completely, adding windows in several rooms, installing fireplaces, modernizing the family room and laundry room and much more. This was a very challenging rebuild. The house had been poorly maintained. It was also an expensive project, but I was very pleased that Montdor was able to keep the cost reasonable and under control. Originally, the goal was to move in upon completion, but we ended up deciding condo life would be better and put the house on the market. It looked great! It was received enthusiastically by prospective purchasers and sold quickly - and the selling price was substantially above "asking". FIVE STARS to Mondor Interiors.

This was my first experience working with an interior designer and the results have exceeded my expectations. Shaila Gottlieb of Montdor Interiors was professional, patient, brimming with ideas on how to improve and update my main floor & staircase yer her design kept with my vision and the flare of the house. I was extremely indecisive with the paint colours I chose and Shaila guided me through the choices and we came up with the perfect colours for the hallway and the rest of the rooms. I had the pleasure of working with Shaila Gottleib, owner of Montdor Interiors, on a very difficult project. Shaila brought my company, Savvy Concierge, into the job to assist with decluttering. This in fact was a small part of a much larger project. After we finished, most of the home's interior was gutted. I watched as Shaila worked effortlessly with the architect, contractor, the home owner's brother and housekeeper. Shaila measured rooms and discussed every option that would bring about a complete picture that was suited to the needs of the client's lifestyle including mobility issues. Shaila, shares her vision with her team, listens to their feedback and then makes her decisions. Her notebook is filled with plans, measurements and ideas. Each project is a unique experience. When we decided to renovate our guest and master bathrooms, I knew I needed help. Too many decisions and 'I don’t know what I don’t know'. Fortunately, I found Shaila through Houzz. How fortunate a find that was! Shaila has been a pleasure to work with through this evolution process. From beginning to the end this was the most pain free and professional renovation experience we have ever undertaken. We were doing up a rental property for resale and while we wanted to maximize our income we did not want to get too tied up in the details of what can be a very time consuming process. When looking into painting our home I called Shaila for advice. I went to the paint store and chose some colors that I liked and then took some other color swatches just in case :-). Shaila made the whole experience so pleasant and enjoyable!! We went through each room and with Shaila's expertise and fabulous eye for color she guided me and helped me choose colors that worked with the existing colors of the kitchen, floors and bathrooms she made my home look so beautiful and so serene. Our relationship with Shaila Gottlieb and Montdor Interiors dates back to the 1980's when we had moved into a new home and needed help with the interior design. We were immediately comfortable with Shaila and her ability to tune in to our tastes and budget, but still provide her expertise so that we were very happy with the finished product. Naturally, when we downsized in 2001 we called on Shaila once again, and she was able to brilliantly advise us as to what to keep and what to discard and also to provide ideas for re-doing what we did keep. Last October when we were downsizing once again, we didn't hesitate to get in touch with Shaila and we're so glad we did. Our new place is magnificent thanks to Shaila and her ability to work with what we already had, adding the perfect accessories and having a magnificent wall unit which she designed, custom made. Lacking the patience to look through wallpaper samples, we relied on Shaila to bring us a few from which to choose, and we were more than pleased with the three we used in the bathrooms in our unit. We had the same experience with drapery fabrics where she was able to zero in on the perfect ones. We are so glad we contacted Shaila to help with decorating our new apartment because we are delighted with the finished product.

My wife called Shaila Gottlieb in late December, 2014 about designing a more efficient laundry work area in our condominium. Her first question to Shaila was "would you consider a small job such as this" to which Shaila replied, "why not, of course I'll consider it". From her review of our needs and of the space required, she came up with a plan to get the most use of the space, plus giving us the opportunity to place a second refrigerator. She organized the trades; she developed a timetable for the work she budgeted the complete job. Everything came together exactly as was planned. Being the President of our 404 suite condominium complex, I had the privilege of first being on the committee to interview than chose Montdor Interiors over 4 other companies. From the latter part of 2013 into a good part of 2014, Shaila worked for us updating our Multi-purpose room. We were so impressed with her work that we commissioned her to next update our card room, both of our lobbies, and part of our joining corridor. Her selection of furniture, tables and chairs, wallpaper, paint and the many art works well suited our "personality" of the building and the budget that we had to live with. What a difference her work has made. Our rooms were a sorry looking lot that were functional but so outdated and a mishmash of different themes. Shaila, designed each room with the intention of having it flow into the next room and blend with the theme of the complex. Working with her was a pleasure. She listened to what we thought we needed and helped direct us to our ultimate finishings. All I can say is that if you saw the before and after photos, you would realize the completeness of her work! And Shaila was able to stay within budget realizing good deals which allowed us to purchase extra amenities along the way. Our Board was so impressed with Shaila's vision, purchasing skills, and design flair that we have since hired her to guide us in selecting the interior finishings for the modernization of our 6 elevators.

Shaila was great working with. Her ideas were creative. I had my kitchen done and Shaila took care of everything. From contractors to appliances to door handles. Shaila was on- site always which made me feel comfortable as I was at work. I would recommend Shaila to anyone. I love my new kitchen and look forward to working with her again on my next project.

I engaged Shaila for the first time 8 years ago as I wanted to freshen up our living room, dining room and the main floor area. Last year I needed help with our bedroom. I called Shaila and she helped me transform an empty room into a beautiful bedroom. At the beginning of the project I did not know what I wanted. With Shaila's guidance I was able to learn and see what kind of sleeping space I would enjoy. I love our bedroom.

Shaila Gottlieb is a household word. I have consulted Shaila for 20 years. Whether I am painting, renovating or venting she is always there to provide her wise advice to me in such a non-invasive way. Of course we don’t just chat; she redoes my whole room or what is required at the time. Her energy is phenomenal. Her ideas are so unusual , creative but not over the top, unless you want that. The best part is that Shaila listens to you and then goes to work with your agenda. The final word, she is reasonably priced

My husband and I have worked with Shaila for many years, decorating and renovating our house and cottage! Most recently we had to renovate our basement after it flooded. As always she was wonderful to work with. She is very creative and brought us many new ideas. She listens and is sensitive to our needs and our taste. She did a lot of the legwork searching for the right items before taking us to see them, which really helped us stay focused. She designed built-ins, helped with the choosing of stone for around the fireplace and flooring for the entire basement. As well, with her, we chose wallpaper, paint colours and light fixtures. She was very supportive during the entire process. We could not have done it without her. The basement is beautiful and practical. Thanks to Shaila I love spending time downstairs!

I have hired Shaila for my residence and office and i am always extremely happy with the results. She is very trust worthy and always delivers more than promised at great value. Shaila is very creative and an out of the box thinker. She has come up with very cool and innovative design that always WOW's visitors when they come to my house and clients when the come to my office. Dear Shaila: As you know moving from our house into the condo was traumatic and we were faced with many obstacles. You helped us plan for all of those physical challenges that were both new and daunting for us. Shaila and I have worked together for many years. I moved a couple of years ago into a condo and after purchasing it Shaila was the first person I called. Shaila has the ability to pick up individual taste and know how to bring it into reality. Shaila came to my rescue again when my husband and I downsized from our suburban home to a chic, mid-town condo. I have worked with Montdor Interiors for many many years but Shaila Gottlieb came to my family's rescue in 2014. Upon return from vacation, I opened my door to a house destroyed by water damage. Our home suffered the ice storm of Xmas 2013 and was flooded from the roof to the basement beyond repair. I called two companies: My insurer and Montdor. Immediately upon receipt of the call, Shaila Gottlieb appeared, and began to organize and plan the rebuild. Her workers were reliable and trustworthy. Her designs were spectacular. Shaila's suggestions were, as always, excellent, and within budget. My home transformed and is now a showpiece. My plan is to sell. The rebuild, upgrade and High End finishes have added glamour and significant value to my home. Shaila Gottlieb, of Montdor Interiors, recently designed a large unit for our master bedroom, giving us much-needed shelf and storage space, and a place to incorporate a large TV. Not only is the unit absolutely beautiful (elegant in fact), but it is incredibly functional. Shaila was wonderful to work with and very patient. She listened to what we were looking for, was very respectful of the budget, made suggestions, presented options, and designed something that was more than we could ever have hoped for. We were also extremely impressed with the way in which she spoke to and worked with the carpenter/installers and other tradespeople. This was not the first time that we had enlisted Montdor. In previous years, Shaila had designed the cabinetry for and layout of our kitchen, as well as our kids' rooms, washrooms, and family room, finding creative, beautiful ways to provide us with much-needed storage space. We have always found Shaila to be professional, accessible and focused on developing creative solutions to meet our needs and we cannot recommend her highly enough.
