Fernando’s solution was to swing the stairway in the opposite direction (a solution that never crossed our minds), move the kitchen into a TV room in the rear of the house, and designed a new high ceiling, open space family room that was airy and comfortable. On the second occasion, we confronted him with a ranch-style home that had not been updated in 50 years. After crawling through attics and a closed-in second floor, his design removed walls and ceilings to create a vaulted-ceiling great room, a new dining room and library, and a modern staircase and balcony. He turned an old design into a modern and very enjoyable home to live in.”
