“Lane Williams took our dated and very tired looking 1960’s one story, pitched roof home with a daylight basement and transformed it into a beautiful modern home with strong horizontal and vertical planes and cantilevered masses. Lane's vision for the house really came together when we decided to spend the money to expand the carport to two cars. We were thinking it might not work, but when he showed us the renderings we both just thought wow – it balanced everything out and got us a look that was spectacular. “I was looking for someone deeply experienced in technical domains, (architecture, construction, and fabrication) to fit the requirements of my custom home, the Galer Street House. Thomas was tasked with production of the interior custom cabinetry and associated custom woodworking. From our first meeting, Thomas’s communication, experience and broad background gave me confidence that he would understand the complex geometries and be able to deliver the high-end quality needed for this application. From the custom handmade walnut cabinets, custom furniture-like features and being always available to help me when the details needed his attention, he delivered. I was not disappointed. In addition, when challenged by architectural details and budget constraints on the exterior of the home, Thomas, owner of Studio Walker Architects, Inc., was able to take a large burden off my shoulders with his durable design/build approach, which was substantially less expensive and also resulted in a better overall appearance. “Renovation design for our 1910 crumbling craftsman - updated the look while preserving craftsman character. Punched out the roofline to create a dramatic front porch that casts lighting into a beautiful cedar ceiling you can see from a block away. We have the most unique craftsman on the block that is both beautiful and functional. Highly recommend!!”

“My wife and I have a difficult lot to build a house on due to its irregular slope, steep in some areas. In order to have a view of Puget Sound the main floor had to be as high as possible. Before hiring Rhodes Architecture + Light we met with a few builders who do their own design work. They were unable to come up with an acceptable way to achieve the floor height we need. This drove us to look for an architect. We selected Tim Rhodes because we liked his portfolio of completed projects and after meeting him felt we could trust him to do the job. Tim came up with a very clever design that incorporated all our requirements. We've been living in the house 14 months and are quite pleased. Tim's design gets many compliments from first time visitors. The only reason I didn't give Rhodes Architecture + Light five stars is cost estimation and control. Our construction cost ended up 40% above my desired target. To be fair this is common when building a house.”

This is a first house that we have started from the ground up and he treated each of our questions with respect even if it wasn't something that could be done. He would then explain why it would or wouldn't work.”

During the development period, Alev provided us with many ideas and details of our design. Throughout the development and construction phase, she was sure to see that the design details were fully executed, always communicating her ideas and incorporating our ideas as well. Today after living in our home for several years, we are still in awe of the many details she designed and brought to us. Our home was recognized in Luxe magazine, Spring 2012 issue as well as Pacific NW magazine, May 12, 2013. Working with Alev was a pleasure and a wonderful experience. She is exceptional. Alev has an incredible eye for design and details and was outstanding to work with.”

““Mark was asked to submit a proposal to design a house that I was planning to build in Preston, WA. After interviewing several Architects, Mark's portfolio of previous work was most impressive. He had as many detailed drawings for the meticulous woodwork of the interior of the house (what I was looking for) as he did for the structure / exterior of the house. Since that time, Mark has supported several creative designs to include an in-law apartment and the planning of a home I wish to build in Bend, OR. His responsiveness when I have questions and the ideas he offered have been tremendously helpful and I consider him an ultimate professional in his work. I appreciate his high sense of integrity in all that he does.””

“My wife and I started working with Josh to design a full second story addition to our home. Josh was fantastic to work with and incredibly timely in responding or setting up meetings! We felt like he genuinely listened to our wants and needs while also providing helpful context and examples when they arose. Josh's designs were stunning both from an exterior and interior perspective. We decided to put our remodel/addition on hold given a lot of uncertainty in the economy and our careers, it didn't seem wise to overextend ourselves at this time but we will absolutely be using Josh again once we feel more comfortable financially. We couldn't recommend Josh more!”

“Arthur is very knowledgeable architect, thorough and has great expertise in his field. He is flexible, always listened to our concerns and helped our projects to be success by staying one step a ahead and being professional in so many ways. We were first time builders so he helped us with many under water stones. Together we remodel and improve 5 warehouses for our busy online boutique store and no one felt inconveniences, as the general contractor that he recommended, was excellent, very knowledgeable and his team did amazing job and worked fast. Arthur helped to make our business be efficient in many ways. Highly recommend!”
