“We had an outdated kitchen with a difficult layout. We went to Design First after seeing a friend's kitchen they had designed. The process with Friedemann was highly consultative. Several meetings were just to get a feel for the space and how we wanted to use the kitchen. The end result is both beautiful and perfect for our needs. Unfortunately Friedemann passed away during the project. While it was a difficult time for everybody, Megan and Nicole were extremely professional throughout. They really carried forward the design ethos of DesignFirst. They were great problem solvers when the inevitable construction surprises happened. Shopping with Megan for tiles, lights, handles etc was a pleasure. Their attention to detail and regular communication was great and the result looks even better than I imagined from the designs. I totally love cooking in it!”

We had a vision combined with some ideas… what we needed was Chuck Mills to help shepherd an architectural design that would bring cohesiveness to the project. After a few conversations Chuck architected what would soon become a reality... a home that combined the Arts & Craft charm with a stylish modern interior, all this while preserving the look and feel of the original house and the neighborhood in which it was located. No small task! More importantly Chuck remained actively involved in monitoring the whole construction progress, helping us to solve countless issues. He pursued everything in detail, seeking perfection and handling things in a timely manner. Chuck made the difficult things look easy.”
