“Completely renovated our log cabin. They came in and demo'd it. Removing the drop down ceiling, making the whole log cabin 1 big gathering room (the lodge) with cathedral ceiling. They moved the stairs leading to unfinished basement (now finished), replaced all the windows in the log cabin, new ash flooring, new kitchen cupboards,added kitchen island, and countertops, notched out logs to fit new appliances. Also finished basement with new bedroom, laundry room, family room, bathroom and my favorite, "a craft room" from what used to be a "cluttered hall". Also added slider walk out door to patio area and outside shower.

“We hired Gulfield Contracting to repair several rooms in our home. The house had multiple areas that needed repair to the ceiling and walls. We had a plumbing issue that required cutting holes in our living room, bathroom and bedroom. Gulfield Contracting came to our rescue!! They did an outstanding job! The quality of their work was exceptional. They were extremely careful not to get the spackling or sanding dust on our existing carpet. I wish I had taken pictures of before and after the repairs because when they finished the job you would not know that our walls were torn apart!! I would highly recommend them.”

“My wife and I built our dream home in Stowe, Vermont. Our relationship with Travis Cutler a partner at Donald Blake was most enjoyable, considering the size of this undertaking. We established a fixed price at the out set and knew any extras would be an additional cost.
My wife who is an interior designer and who designed the whole house was very efficient and made sure all details would be submitted on time. So from the original estimation of 19 months the house was completed in 16 months. Our architect Cushman Design Group did not need to supervise, since he had complete confidence in the builders capabilities.
All the crew were very professional and they took great pride in their work and it showed in the finish product.

When I initially spoke with Warren about my project, he told me that he would be down that afternoon - and he arrived early. I provided Warren with an overview of the issues (that he also saw). “Ours is primarily a DIY project – a timber-framed, strawbale-wrapped house with external stud walls containing dense-packed cellulose insulation and (eventually) clapboard siding. We greatly benefited from consulting with New Frameworks Natural Design Build starting early in our design/planning process. Co-owner Jacob Deva Racussin, is very knowledgeable, thorough, friendly and outstanding teacher, who met with us several times and provided very useful feedback and suggestions, as well as instructions and sources for specialized construction supplies. He visited our project site several times, and taught us (and friends) how to shape and build with the bales. We also hired a New Frameworks crew, including co-owner Ace McArleton, to apply the base coat of plaster on the interior straw-bale walls. They were wonderful - very hardworking, plus enjoyable to work with! We very much appreciate everyone’s flexibility in working with us through our long, complicated and somewhat chaotic process. We think the world of all the New Frameworks Natural Design Build people and highly recommend them!”

“Steve Sorrell did a complete redesign of our kitchen, which involved gutting three rooms to expand a tiny kitchen, changes to windows and floor leveling. He installed new Maple floors, Cherry cabinets, and granite countertops and it is GORGEOUS! Steve handled the design through the execution, supervising everything. Steve and his crew are fast, clean, conscientious and courteous and really know their stuff. Extremely reliable as well. We've also had him redo the drainage system at the back of the house, and again, it was a flawless project. He had to remove the old deck, excavate the yard, build part of a foundation wall, install new drainage, regrade the yard and build a new deck. I am never worried how a project will turn out when Steve is in charge, it will be perfect.”
