“I was looking for a company to remodel my mom's property in alameda. I heard about this company from a friend and I decided to give it a shot . My mom is 75 years old and not able to communicate so I came to help her. Initially, we wanted to remodel our kitchen but decided to extend our kitchen and dinning room by breaking the wall that divided it. Maor the owner had a lot of layout options to choose from. He is very knowledgeable about design, and offered other possibilities. He also explain the different price between each option . We decided move forward with the build out and started the work on feb 14th. It took him 6 weeks to finish the project. My conclusion: He was almost every day supervise the different crews. Easy to communicate with. He is very pleasant person, he alway find a solution to any request we had. The crew was very professional and pass all inspection the first time . Every day they clean my house and moved their equipment on the side of the house . They didn't work on weekends for our request. He helped us choose all the fixtures from different supplier. Most of the guys speak English and very respectful to both my mom and I. The prices was fair for the quality of the job. The quality of his work is very high and the finish was super. Now we are thinking about doing the 2 bathroom and other area of the house. He will definitely be the contractor I choose . “After receiving bids from and interviewing several contractors, we selected Podesta to do a top to bottom remodel of a Queen Anne house built in 1900. We had seen their work, appreciated their attention to detail, and knew they could handle a big job. We were not disappointed. Though the job took 3 months longer than first anticipated, we had made sensible and needed changes to the plans all during construction. Communication, both with us and with the architect, was very good throughout the construction. The site was kept very clean and any issues raised by neighbors during the construction were dealt with quickly and respectfully. After we moved back to the remodeled house, Podesta continued to correct problems and at the year anniversary of job completion, they met with us and corrected any remaining issues.”

The subcontractors were on time and extremely competent. Each phase of the work was overseen by Arsen and each day closed with detailed cleanliness. We were re-designing our kitchen. We changed countertops, sinks, backsplash and cabinets. The owner gave us phenomenal options to choose from within our budget. Jay has an eye for design which my wife really appreciated. “I worked with Darrell Butler of 21st Century to have a new foundation done in my back yard and under my bathroom. Darrell was very helpful in determining what exactly needed to be done, arrived at every one of our meeting times punctually and was very patient in waiting until I was financially ready to do the work because I was dealing with recovering from breast cancer but needed the work done urgently. He was very sympathetic to my situation and supportive which really made me feel I could trust him with my project. When it was time to do the work he brought in a cement contractor that did the work in two days, was very efficient, took all the old cement and more with them and left behind a very beautiful new outdoor concrete patio and also lifted my bathroom to add the new foundation underneath. They added a new drain to keep the water from the slope from eroding the soil under the bathroom which was making the bathroom sink. I am very pleased with the work and with 21st Century's commitment to making it happen for me and doing a great job. I feel that what they charged me for this project was fair and was happy to pay it knowing that the work had been very well.”

“Shawn Aya of Aya Homes built the home that we bought. He built this house with a lot of quality in it. The workmanship was very good. The house has lot of upgrades that he put in the house. Some of the upgrades are 8 foot high insulated ceiling in the garage, a passive radon system, three-quarter inch stained solid wood floor, tray ceilings in all bedrooms, under kitchen cabinets LED lights, wider stairs to the basement, decora light switches to name a few. We built the house finished. Most of the upgrades he built into the house, we did not add them. We do not know anything about the project dates, costs, and deadlines.”
