“At Studio Spice we worked with Jonathan De Friend to source 400 sq m of flooring and staircase cladding for a large private residential renovation project. We were looking for something contemporary but organic. He found for us a bespoke wall to wall planks solution, using high grade ash, that was engineered in the UK, so with minimal carbon footprint. He liaised between us and the mill, oversaw installation, was excellent in coordinating timelines and installation conditions with the main contractor and made great suggestions for smaller details, such as threshold detailing and position of cuts. He also stayed in touch for a great after sales service and snagging. We will certainly be working with Jonathan again.”

“We have had an oak kitchen floor refreshed and re-stained to 'better than new' by Eric from Surrey Flooring Services for c £500. More recently we commissioned them to rip out the carpets and restore the pine floor boards of the ground floor of our large detached 'arts and crafts' late Victorian house. This involved some complex plank matching and replacements, infilling the gaps between the planks quite apart from a total re-sanding , staining and sealing - all executed with great attention to detail at short notice, on time and on budget for c £4,500. We strongly recommend them.”

Mursel and his team were extremely professional, polite, friendly and trustworthy from the point of choosing the flooring, getting a competitive quote, fitting the flooring and the aftercare. Mursel was knowledged and proud of his work and the materials used were of high quality and the fitting was faultless which reflects in my high recommendation of them. I am absolutely thrilled with the floor years later. Woodcraft come in yearly to do a maintenance service to the floor which looks as good as it did when new. The maintenance was done quickly and thoroughly and the floors look stunning.”

Fernbank proved to be an excellent choice. They have a "can do" attitude, and are very flexible to do business with. They are polite, professional, reliable, and masters of their trade. Seven months after selling our old house, we moved into our new home this week, and are delighted with the outcome. Fernbank carpeted 4 rooms and laid flooring in 3 plus the hall. All their work has been done to a very high standard. They are a small family run company, and a pleasure to do business with. I have no hesitation in recommending them.”

“I had tired splintered original floorboards with holes in and pieces that needed replacing. These guys were brilliant. They moved my furniture without fuss and put it all back again, they filled and bonded wood between the gaps and when they sanded it down there was no dust residue. The finish has made an enormous difference in lifting my flat in to the stylish residence it deserves to be. Original sanded and professionally filled and treated floorboards has to be the most beautiful finish available for any wooden floor. My expectations were surpassed and now I feel surprisingly precious when water drops from unloading the dishwasher, or when my dog runs to the garden and slides round the corner of the kitchen scratching the beautiful floor to get to the garden - need to teach her to buff it and not scratch it - doggie slippers perhaps! hahaha”
