“We (my wife and I) hired Inner Space for the interior design of our apartment in Bangalore. The project took close to six months, during which time we had the opportunity to deal with Aanchal and Yogesh very closely - with Aanchal during the early conceptual design phase, and with Yogesh during the execution phase. First, the easy part - it is always a pleasure to deal with a pair of such consummate professionals. Every room was laid out in excruciating detail, with even the minutest complication getting adequate attention. Colours, shapes, dimensions, interactions, lighting - everything was recorded in a set of computer-generated drawings that really helped in visualizing the final decor. Unlike some other interior designers we approached, Inner Space considered our entire apartment holistically. The competition just tried out cut-and-paste ideas from design magazines and websites; Inner Space had a customized grounds-up design handcrafted for OUR apartment based on OUR choices. Not one element in the final decor is out of place; and they easily segue into each other. The wow effect when we finally saw the completed apartment is a memory to cherish forever. Coming to Yogesh's execution skills - timelines were laid out well in advance, workers were hired in time and the project proceeded like clockwork. The apartment was ready exactly on the date Yogesh committed to several months earlier. Not a rough edge, not a screw out of place. He would bend over backwards to accommodate even the smallest requests (whims, too) we had - move a switch a bit? no problem. Add another cupboard? Consider it done. Nothing was left out; they were all recorded, scheduled and executed with characteristic attention to detail. All this completely within budget. We had set a rupee amount for the whole project; the final cost was actually a little bit less than the estimate provided at the outset. They were actually holding us back when we wanted to splurge beyond our budget. We were encouraged (nay, required) to actively participate in selection of designs, colours, material and other elements. It goes without saying that if I were to buy another residence in Bangalore, Inner Space is an automatic choice for the interior design.”

Some of the main positives that standout: Turnkey Solutions: Apart from woodwork, they provide complete interior design solutions, including painting, plumbing, electrical, and also minor-civil work. Almost every requirement we had was taken up by them and they executed to perfection. If there’s any area where he feels his team does not have an expertise in, he would frankly tell you that. Design ideas / Flexibility: Their tagline 'Converting dreams to reality' speaks for itself. They have an excellent design library and many fresh design ideas, but still take a lot of effort to ensure that the final outcome matches the taste of the individual. I saw this flexibility as a major plus, as it is a bit of a problem with many top designers who are sometimes very keen on pushing their ideas across, even when they're tangential to the customers' taste. Commitment to schedule & transparency: This is definitely one of the major USPs of Karighars. After we finalized the initial designs, Abhishek chalked out a breakup of the work schedule. Every item in the plan was completed on time (in many cases, ahead of schedule), and he delivered the completed work 2 weeks in advance, with no compromise on quality. The entire team, right from the proprietors to the carpenters, is very passionate, ethical and hard-working. He used to call me almost once in 2 days with an update of the progress (this apart from the status-mails his team sends regularly) Quality of work: Highly skilled, polite and hard-working team of carpenters, who share their boss’s can-do attitude. There were a few requirements from our end which came in at the last minute and we were not sure if they could be accommodated. But Abhishek & Vinayak worked with their team and got them addressed! What stands out more than anything else is the quality of their after sales service -> Even 3+ years after handover, Abhishek has still been in touch and has been helping us voluntarily with all of our requirements. “What impressed me most when I visited the Homelane showroom was the extensive choice they provided in terms of materials, shades, designs and budget options. They were quick to understand our taste and the kind of interiors we were looking for. Thereafter, they provided us with the designs, and they patiently accommodated all the changes that we kept requesting as we had second thoughts about shades, materials and added specifications. Once the final design was approved by us and they started the work, the difference between Homelane and the neighborhood carpenter became apparent. Homelane staff worked diligently to finish the task in the promised time and the final work turned out to be exactly as promised. Never once I regretted handing over the contract to them. The only advise that I have for prospective clients is that, they should insist that the design team personally meets your electricians, plumbers, false ceiling contractors and clearly mark the points where switches, sockets, gas pipelines, false ceiling etc have to be shifted/limited to, as these tasks need to be completed before their project team moves in.”
