“Luis and his team are top notch professionals who focus on quality. I have had the good fortune to work with him on several projects to improve my home and backyard in San Francisco. The first was a fairly complicated deck rebuild followed by my request to build a series of planters from an architect's drawings. They did such a great job on those I asked them to replace all my exterior siding and even add a window which looks marvelous. I can't recommend Form and Function Landscapes enough. My experience with Luis is he has always been fair and honest. I know I can trust him and his team of landscapers, carpenters, plumbers and electricians to do a good job.”

“My garden had good bones but the plants were all wrong. I wanted a garden that looked natural but well-kept, a tough aesthetic to pull off. I wanted lots of birds and butterflies. Mariposa Gardening has taken care of my garden for a few years now. The principal, Andrea Hurd, started by editing the original sorry collection of misplaced plants, replacing the losers with absolute winners. I now have a beautiful variety of textures, colors, shapes and sizes. Something is in bloom in all seasons. We are overrun with birds and, in season, with butterflies. Her maintenance crews have done a great job of keeping her work looking good. The trees are elegantly pruned; each one displays that gold standard "looks like it grew that way" look. Any special request that I make is quickly taken care of. Sometimes I get treats, in the form of new flowers or vegetable starts (I love foraging in my own back yard). In short I am completely happy with Mariposa Gardening and Design.”

“Steven and his crew from Opulands have done a phenomenal job and displayed thorough professionalism with our home backyard landscaping project. Steven was very respectful of our time, requirements and presented multiple design options to us and the cost tradeoffs. Steven was also kind enough to make multiple trips to allow us time to converge on the design. We are very happy with the tiled option that we eventually settled on and the workmanship of his crew exceeded our expectations. I feel very happy with the overall quality of our backyard project and feel very comfortable recommending him & Opulands for your home renovation and landscaping requirements.”

“We hired G Family because we wanted to have a local company competent in both design & build to make our backyard a place for our kids to play, for us to garden, and host friends. What we got was an enjoyable process with phenomenal people who have become like family to create an oasis of play, joy, and peace. Dave transformed many dilapidated terraces into a coveted flat yard space, with a patio for entertainment or yoga and a hot tub/outdoor shower sanctuary. Zach is an absolute dream to work with, plus a plant genius. He worked with us to design the most stunning zones of colorful life that perfectly blend zen and pollinator gardens, fruit trees, open play areas, and vegetable beds with stunning rock walls (in a small footprint)! The G family’s execution of our vision gave us the most invaluable gift. “The owner of this firm, Omar Khorsheed, carried out a very extensive and difficult landscaping job for our home about 10 years ago. This involved all aspects of design and construction - and subsequent maintenance. It is something of an understatement to say that we were and have remained delighted with the result. An essential part of that abiding delight derives from Omar's remarkable, and to us surprising and unexpected, artistic vision about the job,. The result owes relatively little to our input, and what we have, what we enjoy, we overwhelming owe to his very creative artistic understanding and sensibility. Importantly, however, when we did disagree with him he discussed the issues with us in a good-spirited and respectful manner and, when we resolved on a clear decision, acceded to that in good will. “I’d like to commend Joel Tapia of Bloom and Lawn Landscaping and his crew for doing such a terrific landscaping job at our home. Joel is very nice to work with and is very professional. He takes the time to review your needs and offers suggestions. Our new sod lawn and plants make our home look beautiful and brand new. It’s like a model house! Joel took the time to go with us to select the plants to go along with the new lawn. His prices are reasonable and his workers great. We had 1,000 square feet of lawn plus a tree and plants added. The job was done in just two days. We decided to retain them for our biweekly maintenance too. Thank you, Bloom and Lawn, for a job well done! You guys are great! Steve & Liz.”
